I love the sea-blue lipstick she wore for the MV; it echoes what the lips of those who drowned look like. As she is a mermaid/siren, her lips show the sinister undertone to her nature. She will kiss you, but it will be a kiss of death.

My girlfriend used to sing this with me ok stage. I did a lot of Stan Rogers, Great Big Sea, Eric Bogle, Tom Paxton, Dreadnaughts and Arrogant Worms so a nautical theme was pretty constant especially later in the night when the occasional shanties were done.
