My Journey to becoming a Meditation Teacher, Author and Healer

In this heartfelt video, I will share my personal journey to becoming a meditation teacher, Author, and Healer. Like so many of us, it’s been a difficult path in which I have had to overcome personal trauma, painful experiences, and many obstacles. It’s my hope that by sharing this personal video and talking honestly about all my struggles that I may be able to inspire others on their own journey. It's for all those who are interested in becoming a teacher, following a spiritual lifestyle, or just longing to live a more meaningful life. It’s never where you start that defines you it’s where you end up that matters the most. Always trust your heart and follow your deepest truth. We are alive at this moment for a reason. Never doubt your longing for freedom trust that it's the right time to step onto a higher path.

MY BIO:
I am a well-known meditation teacher, author, and visionary leader based in the Bay Area (Cali) and Peru. I am the author of A Fierce Heart: Finding Strength, Courage, and Wisdom in Any Moment. I am considered a pioneer in bringing mindfulness-based healing practices to diverse communities. I am one of the founders and core teachers at the East Bay Meditation Center, located in downtown Oakland, CA. I received extensive training by Jack Kornfield, is a member of the teacher’s council at Spirit Rock Meditation Center in northern California, and has practiced and studied Buddhist philosophy in both the Theravada and Tibetan schools of Buddhism for the last 20 years. In addition to being a teacher, I am also a shamanic practitioner and have studied indigenous healing practices for over a decade. I am the founder of Lotus Vine Journeys, an organization that blends indigenous healing practices with Buddhist wisdom. My writings and teachings have appeared in many online journals and publications such as Lions Roar, Tricycle, and Belief.net. I currently travel and teach meditation retreats, workshops, and classes worldwide.

Spring Washam is an inspiring teacher. I have so much enjoyed her Church of Harriett on Sundays which she airs at 10am Pacific time which is wonderful for me.
