Been wanting to do nursing straight after high school but got rejected by the schools that accept freshman straight into nursing which left me with pre nursing at a state school or two UCs without nursing. Decided to go to community and hopefully transfer to a nursing program

Enjoy the journey!!! I will be 26 years old this year and just started my second attempt for nursing school. Everybody’s journey is going to be different.

This is my exact timeline too! Decided my senior year of college that I wanted to be a PA, got my CNA then realized I wanted to do nursing. I did a year of prereqs/work and I just got accepted to an ABSN program!

I want to be RNA. I got accepted to CSUSB but my family relatives gave me an advice to do CC then transfer to Uni for nursing. Can you advice me in the best step to take?

Thank you so much for your video! I already have a bachelor's degree in economics from Japan. I went there because I thought it would be fun to live in Tokyo and that the school was prestigious over there. Now I am back in Washington and lost and decided to pursue nursing. I might be able to transfer some credits from japan to community college. Would you say starting an ADN program at a local community college is a good step? My ultimate goal is to get a BSN at UW(hopefully) and perhaps a master after that. The only thing is I might have to move with my husband to a different state after two years so that kinda worries me. TIA!

Hey! This is just my opinion, but starting an ADN can save a lot of money. Many work places don’t require a BSN to work as an RN (some require it after 4-5 years I think) and also help pay for your tuition toward a BSN so it might be something to look into! As long as you complete school and are eligible to take the NCLEX exam, you can apply for a nursing license in a different state than where you attended school. I hope this helps! 😊

I'm a freshman this year at UW and am hoping that next year I can say I have met all the nursing prerequisites. Fingers crossed! but I'm new to all this college stuff. I'm first-generation and was wondering if you could give me tips. How do I become a CNA, and how do I get clinical hours.
@GeensK2 жыл бұрын
Hi! There are many CNA programs in the area which differ in cost/length of program. I personally attended the American Healthcare CNA School in Seattle because it was the cheapest/shortest program time I could find. But you can search online or ask your school counselor for a list of places that offer CNA programs! I believe clinical hours for nursing school mostly comes from work (does not have to be a hospital, many people find jobs in assisted living facilities/rehab facilities) but you would have to look at the school specific requirements for that. Hope this helps :)

question what is nursing school? you finished your bachelor's degree that wasn't in nursing so you didn't get a BSN so is nursing school more for people that didn't major in nursing all 4 years, but then people that do have a BSN in nursing go onto nursing school is it to become an NP? I'm sorry could you explain it to me?
@GeensK2 жыл бұрын
Hi! Nursing school can be for various degrees: associate, bachelor, master, doctorate. You don’t need a bachelor degree to go to an associate or bachelor program nursing school. I got my bachelors degree in biology but I am getting a 2nd bachelors degree in nursing! After obtaining a BSN (bachelor of nursing) degree, you can enroll in a masters or doctorate nursing program to become an NP. I hope this helps!

I got mine from American Healthcare CNA School in Seattle! But it doesn’t matter where you get it as long as you pass the test 😊
