Man, I used to love custom ordering back in the Carvin days. Nothing like receiving it after you picked each spec out that you wanted. Never disappointed! With Kiesel, I can get up to $4K quick with all the "dream guitar" specs.

Great guitar/video! One small correction - I wouldn't characterize the Kiesel soft case as a "gig bag" -- every guitar comes with a case, either hard or soft. Their soft cases are really fantastic. Jeff Kiesel claims the soft cases actually offer better protection than the hard in many instances, and having owned both I must agree.

Just a heads up to anyone thinking about getting a Kiesel in the near future but are hesitating/procrastinating, Jeff Kiesel has explicitly stated that there will be a pretty much universal price increase across models and options July 1. So if you're in the market, you should get your order in before then otherwise the price of your build will go up.

Yea, the prices were supposed to increased in Jan '21 but were delayed to July. This is why there are no holiday discounts etc.. Prices across all models and options are supposed to go up. Dammit!

When I worked in a grocery store in the late 70’s, we used AquaNet hair spray to erase the ink on soup cans so we could raise the prices. Some cans had their prices raised 2 or 3 times before they were sold (hyperinflation)

There is so much to like about the SCB6. It's a great look and feel. It deserves one of their "cool" names they have given their newer guitar designs. I bought my dream of a figured claro walnut top on mahogany body with gold hardware about 2 years ago now. All for about 1800. Love it!

I've had an SCB for a number of years. I still play it all the time. It nicely straddles the line of LP and Tele, using a Jeff Kiesel modified design of the old Carvin SC90. The bevel makes it comfortable to play for hours at a time. I think I went with a 12 inch radius on mine. The crackle finish is neat, but it's definitely a little too loud for my tastes. But never say never.

I love that it's a super loud guitar visually before you even hear it. It screams 80s rock visually. It's the Herb Tarlek* of guitars. Half a lifetime ago, I would have thought it's the coolest thing in the world. Now? My ideas about guitar shapes and finishes are a bit more pedestrian. It sounds great, and what matters is that you like it. win/win. *I just dated myself with that reference. :)

I thought about getting a Kiesel, but the sometimes critical customer feedback made me reconsider. I still have no idea what to make of these complaints. To me they were too many to ignore. I then went looked for a luthier in my country (I'm in Europe) and had him build me a guitar. Best decision ever. So I guess getting a Kiesel is a good option if you are in the US.

My 2nd guitar was a late 80s BC Rich Warlock , black w/ purple crackle, gold hardware and reverse Head stock. Should've kept that but I was 16 and not thinking ahead. I found it at a pawn shop in '90.

I love my Kiesels. I just got a Kiesel Racing Green crackle Hyperdrive with a Floyd and Polarity pickups (their spin on a multivoice active pickup...multivoice on a push/pull pot and a 5-way for coil splits...tones for days!), and it might be the best guitar I've ever played. $2300 for a custom lefty X-type is a REALLY solid price. Kiesel flat-out OWNS the $1500-$3000 market (LTD and Schecter own the sub-$1500 market).

I'm pretty sure the default middle position on a Kiesel 5-way switch is both pickups split and not full humbucking (unless you tell them to make it that way). That is why the middle position sounded so nice as well...

I dig it! My first good guitar was a Carvin V220T I bought in 1984. That one definitely has an 80s shape but pink and purple crackle wasn't a finish option back then so I got a white one. It still plays great! I also have a DC127 (still a Carvin) and my latest Kiesel is a Type X to compliment the V220 but in emerald green. I've wanted a SCB6 for a while too, maybe next time.

I think the most creative design decision were those lime green pups.. polar opposite to the body color.. your ying and yang are on opposite end of the planet.. love it.. really looks like a quality made guitar.. may have to try the keisel guitars myself..

Yup. It's crazy. I would not go near such a thing. And I totally get it. I love it. (This said, there is something off with the color coordination of the paint and pickups. Pickup should be neon yellow to match. I don't know. Purple is hard but I think because of the blue in the purple it should either be light neon blue, pink or yellow but anything in the orange to green spectrum feels off).
