Sounds like you got a system that works for you and is of a profitable nature. There's nothing like having a "green" operation where everything is used 😊.

Jeff that's great. Waste not want not. Everything has a use..... finding it is key.

This is a great way to do it, I thought it would be too time consuming with the chop saw but I see now, that works, especially throwing it in the bag.

It’s not too bad, especially if I have a helper retrieving the pieces to be cut- I’ll end up with well over a cord of kindling- that’ll last a few months at the rate we sell the bundles.

I've definitely documented the use of scrap cut-off cedar and making kindling bundles. $ is everywhere in firewood, just use your noggin and a tad bit of time. Great episode, keep cuttin'!

I have a saw horse that I stack a pile of edgings in , made out of 2x4’s with six stalls I cut in between to get 16” kindling , about 18” inches wide , 20” high . I put a couple slabs on top so they don’t spit everywhere where starting the cut with chainsaw , it’s a way faster way .

I have plans in my head to make a rack that will handle the edges- just need to make it happen!

Perhaps you could keep your waste edged material pile (kindling raw material) down to a manageable size if you spent a couple hours at the end of the week to process that pile. Letting it accumulate just turns it into a daunting task that just keeps being put off.
@thelogfather5002Ай бұрын
That’s definitely the plan- but I get too caught up milling I never seem to make the time to clean the mess!

@Allen Family Firewood can’t seem to sell kindling. And cut up the same as you do. They have done a big clean up too. Great video. I enjoyed it. 👍🏻👍🏻👋👋

Some of the killing is short. Those are the metric fire starters.

Hey l enjoy watching your videos, but I have a question. Why do you not send those pieces I believe you call them cut offs on to the customer
@thelogfather5002Ай бұрын
Main reason is because they don’t stack… I try to sell as high a quality of wood as I can. The little blocks in the load would reduce the quality in my opinion. Thanks for watching! Jeff

How about you charge your viewers to come and cut and bundle kindling?
