I still haven’t got a PM2/3 I really ant one. Deka MagnaCut seems to be best bang for buck for a USA made folder at the moment.

Agreed, Deka is definitely the best option IMO. The polymer scales aren't for me though, so I would need to add another $90 or so to the price for aftermarket parts. Either that or go with ultem. It's a shame there aren't more options from the factory like there is for the 20vc models. As for the Spydercos, they are good but take up too much space in my pocket. I have only been grabbing the Para 3 on weekends when I'm carrying slightly less stuff

Subscribed, just found your channel. Funny I have recently acquired all the same knives (different colors), except for the Livewire. Going to pickup one of those soon, for my first OTF. While I do like the PM2/PM3, I like the Mannix 2 more. One of my favorites that I have is Rivers Edge Cutlery Mannix 2, OD Green Scales with the Dark Earth Blade. What as great knife !

You won't regret the livewire, it really is excellent. Also agreed on Manix 2 being better than the compression lock knives.

I sunk like 2 years and tons of money into customizing pm2s trying to make myself like the compression lock. Didnt work, but it eventually made me accept that i dont like the compression lock _or_ the pm2/para 3 platform. Probably my biggest knife related regret. No disrespect meant to the army of fans, they're just not for me. Edit: 11:43 that's why I usually prefer DLC coated, milled titanium handles. I love the way it develops wear. The way anodizing wears off is similar, but never looks as good as the silver against black contrast.

I totally get it. About the only time I can think of where I might rather have a compression lock is if I am wearing gloves, and for me that's not very often.

Might be worth trying the Sage 5. A few people I know that weren’t fans of the pm2/3 really like the Sage 5. The cutout for the compression lock definitely feels a bit more comfortable.

Nice collection. How are you liking the Magnacut? Is it really the cats ass everyone says it is? Ive been intrigued by the composition of the steel and was thinking about picking up a specimen. Any thoughts?

Honestly, it hasn't made any difference in my day to day usage. I think the benefits with the edge retention will be seen over time, but since I only use my knives 3 or 4 times a day on average, it takes me a while to wear a blade down. Cut some tie wraps here, a bit of rope there, etc. I haven't had one of those days where I'm using it for hours yet. It probably won't happen until the next hurricane heads my way.

@@technicianiv1776 I agree, I have a few knives in Magnacut and have not seen the benefits of the steel yet simply because I do not use them enough. I do hope the edge retention is where it's at, as I am not great at sharping.
