Great video man. I've gotta have one. Thanks for sharing this with us.

All-time great design and magnacut is a game changer when done right (I believe after a hiccup with the first batch they are now running it at like 63-64) makes for possibly the best purchase in its size & price bracket. I would also say the Spyderco Sage 5 LW should get a look in that bracket, that design never gets enough credit. And yes - Wolff springs are fantastic. I have yet to see a spring on a hogue able lock fail. Though the worry of Benchmade omega springs failing is really overblown. The issue is that when it does happen, people shout to high heaven and it gets discussed to death. I’ve had countless benchmade folders go through my hands and across my workbench (I sharpen, maintain, restore, repair knives for friends & family and their extended social circles) over the past 20+ years. I’ve seen maybe a dozen failed omega springs and when it does happen the knife had the shit beaten out of it. I can’t fault the spring for failing in those situations.

I kinda think that omega spring failure comes from the knives not being regularly cleaned and lubricated. If the mechanism gets fouled up and runs dry, I can see metal fatiguing differently and it speeding up the mean time between failures.

You can find some pretty good quality omegas on Etsy that come in packs of like 5 and they’re much better quality overall

@@cheaperthanyouthink the few times I dealt with it, the knife really needed to be sent off for warranty work. We’re talking bent liners and the outer cage of the lock possibly being fubar, stuff I didn’t want to risk making worse when benchmade would just replace what they can’t fix. I’ve seen them cover some pretty wild damage and abuse, including a griptilian that I’m pretty sure the owner ran over. But if I were to happen upon one that wasn’t thrashed and it didn’t need to go back, I’d probably end up buying a few different sets of springs to see how much you can tune the action with spring tension. Could be an interesting exercise.

Got this knife in clip point. So far it has been really solid. I don’t feel the need to fortify the scales, seems more solid than bugout. The thin blade strops back very nicely to a biting edge. The lock studs are sharp but in a good way, makes one finger cycling possible, I wish the ball ock on manix had this texture on the lock cage.

I couldn’t agree more, I’ll be dropping a Manix review within the next few weeks and that will definitely be a talking point in my review

@@ElonaldTrusk not deep at all. It’s very comfortable and slips easy in and out of the pocket. I did have issue with the pocket clip going on the scales but it just took a little workin with it

Ok...like the review alot....I just got the Hogue Deka (in blue) Magna Cut today....I'm watching you quickly open and close the knife...you just finish saying how sharp the point is and I mimic your closing and cut the inside of my hand with the tip.....practice makes perfect...beware of practicing with the Deka in Magna cut. LoL

It’s all in the wrist ahah, that tip is absolutely terrifying and so is the edge in general. An absolute home run here haha. But I appreciate you enjoying the review haha

Could the pocket clip be replaced with the civivi titanium clip?

That’s a good question, I honestly don’t know because I don’t own the titanium clip

So you "held" a small sebenza in magnacut - but didn't use it - and dismissed it "hardly any experience with that magnacut" -- zero experience with CRK magnacut ;) ... lost me in your reviews on that one :( -- FWIW I have a deka in magnacut and it is great, but man ... just a crummy comment and perspective.

The note was more to explain the little experience I had with the steel. Unfortunately I do need to polish up reviewing but hopefully that helps explain the comment.
