I will defend tomboy nxde and queencard on my life, the meanings behind the songs are so comforting and validating as a woman. They’re standing up for all women who can’t and that’s amazing. Especially being in an industry where sexism is frequently used. I like the new gidle because they’re shining more in their realm and before it just felt like they were trapped.

@@momo_heart96 I agrée with you that their new music isn’t as on par with their old music, but it’s been shown that Soyeon was REALLY rushed when writing the album for Klaxon, and if you look there are barely any songs on it. This is probably because of their approaching contract expiration, and I think cube is trying to squeeze Soyeon for all she’s worth. Also, Klaxon was obviously so rushed, the MV felt like an under budget version of queencard, so I’m sure it was more because of the fact Soyeon was so rushed into making the album than a worsening in creative direction (though it definitely is a factor)

I like the meaning of Nxde, but Queencard is a joke song. Even Soyeon said she wanted to make a lighthearted song. One of the lyrics is legit about wanting to look like Kim Kardashian. That is nowhere empowering especially Kim who is scamming with her products and did lot of surgery to look like that.

with the babymonster tiktok video I think the problem is each members are either doing it different ways (focusing on hips/focusing on chest) or they are each doing different levels of energy when they should all be doing the same energy, this is not hate just something I as well as some other people noticed it I think they just need to have similar energy as a group dance wise for it to look less odd, I genuinely think they have the potential ♡

i disagree that there are no such things as filler members, it's just that most people use the label maliciously on idols that don't fit the bill and it's rare! i feel like someone's only a filler if they're not only lacking in skill compared to the others, but they're mid/boring performers, and they lack charisma on & off stage. take yeosang from atz, for example. he rarely gets a sufficient amount of lines, but he puts in the work even when he's not singing, is a really charismatic performer, and has a fun personality off stage. if he were a boring person and a mediocre performer, people would be a lot less hesitant to call him a filler member. the only idol i can think of that does fit the bill is hanjin from tws. the other members are pretty advanced dancers and vocalists for being so young, so adding him, who is just a good dancer and singer, has a really obvious contrast. he blends in fine, but in a group of six where 5 of the members can stand out fine individually, one member 1 blending into the background just means he's sticking out in a bad way. he'd look a lot better and stand out more in a group with members closer to his skill level. i hope a big part of it is just him being an international member and that he'll get more comfortable and then become a more interesting performer & entertainer.

I think the only groups who really have filler members are survival show groups. I also feel like people lable too many members as filler because they think talent is the only reason people deserve a space in a group, but idols like Sakura or Shuhwa are needed despite not being the best in the group for their visual and personality. As much as people want to deny it thoes 2 things are often more essential in kpop then skills in order to draw attention to a group when they debut.

i do think there are such members so i respect ur opinion but im going to disagree. sometimes its ibvious if a member doesnt bring much to the group besides a personality trait or something else thats more vein ie: visual position really isnt a position at all it just says they got nothing to bring to the oversaturated group so here be the centre or the main visual.

Lisa is still in kpop as a member of BLACKPINK, she and her members are just taking some break from group activities. She has sang live many times, just because your ears are filled with dirt doesn't mean she can't sing. Go check her recent fanmeets performences.

For her solo career she is not an K-Idol since she is not promoting in Korea. Her best performance was her "Rockstar" performance she sang 100% and she didn't skip anything. That's what I call a great performance.

just my thoughts, it seems nj think they have more power over hybe than they actually do, like yea the songs have done well, but i mean look at the other groups hybe has, they arnt going to go bankrupt losing them (no hate the to girls, they seem way to attatched to mhj) ive seen bm fans saying its intentional, that they are in pairs, but if most people look at it and say it looks messy (which in this case it does) then whatever the choreographer had in mind didnt work, even if they did it slightly differently like a canon effect, where the one in the center starts then with each "drip" the pair next starts and so on whenever i see anything about hybe groups i always see people not mentioning/forgetting fromis 9, which is a shame as they are so talented personally i feel illit got much more hate during their debut, and still to this day, but neither deserved it jyp hasnt been the ceo since 2011 🙃

gidle's songs are still good imo but I do get what you're saying. Their older songs have a lot more character and are so unique. You don't get to hear a lot of kpop songs that sounded like them. It's not that they don't sound like gidle anymore, but their older songs are more interesting and sounded like they weren't just written to become a mainstream hit. It definitely felt like it had more depth. And 100% agree with your other takes

also speaking of foreign full on based idol groups i dont get how its different from regular pop the only difference is they debut in a sctricter environment and are practically puppets i do not get the point of having a british idol group without not a single korean member in it... katseye are also popular too but without manon i think theyd just be kind of there most people like katseye because of manon but to me their songs is just regular tiktok thing and i dont get their choreography its bad lol. i also dont get why every song needs choreography these days for it to go viral too? sometimes it works other times its not really needed but its the common ground between idol groups and regular pop groups. yet to see all of them aid this tiktokification of songs in general is bad as well, it just makes me feel like thats all they know nowadays. anyway theres definitelt some fraud "performers" who i cant take seriously anymore cause theyre all catering it to tiktok sadly. my faves are probably the last group i genuinely will care about deeply because i think anyone else is just going to either completely fail like meovv or they wont be serious about what they do, many of them especially my age should still be taking lessons and yet its like go girl or guy give us nothing

I agree with the one on gidle. I know "queencard" has great meaning, but the song itself ? I feel like "I want that" is the exception. But that's only my opinion. For the meovv one, it depends on what song is baemon's debut. I still consider batter up as their debut and Sheesh as their 1st comeback, and Batter up receved so much hate too ! I mean, I kinda like it ! For JYP, as you said, he has flaws, like everyone else, but when we see the mess with hybe, I feel like he's doing great !

I agree with all, except of: Itzy: I think their actual album is by far the worst they´ve ever released. And they´ve realesed many bad songs from last year until now. All songs are on the same very bad level of Gold. I think Imaginary Friend is even a little bit worse than Gold. I really like them and all of their old albums are flawless masterpieces. But sadly they seem to be far over their peak. Meovv: Disclaimer: All of the following is NOT referring to the members or the group as a team, but only to the songs! I´m sorry for the poor girls. They are really talented and would have deserved better. Terrible! Simply terrible! All of their songs so far. All 0 out of 10. Babymonsters debut wasn´t great, but at least mediocre. But this... IMHO Teddy has never been a good composer. He had some lucky punches, but most of his songs are mediocre or bad.

4.-6. I think you left out Cry For Me. That was the best Twice's b-side song in my opinion. Tzuyu's debut solo was great. The song blended together very well and it has that retro feel about it. Her vocal was surprising good. I thought her stage presence was really good for a girl who was perceived to be lacking stage presence. Great job Tzuyu! For that reason alone, she proved already that she absolutely deserved to debut. I think Jeongyeon said that she didn't want to be a solo artist. Mina could have potential to make her solo debut.
