I say have every pain killer going! Seriously, why is there such a negative attitude to pain killers? If you choose not to have anything good for you but it does not make you better! I had 12hrs of contractions on top of each other and then due to high blood pressure had an epidural and praise the Lord, it was bloody brilliant! Well done sammi, she is gorgeous, oh and Jason too!! Daddies get forgotten about!
@KrystalsKash7 жыл бұрын
I agree with you, I don't know why theres such a stigma attached to having pain relief. So many times I hear people say negitive things about it! Its your body, have what you like to make yourself more comfortable, your having a baby for goodness sake!
@joayeo7 жыл бұрын
Totally agree. I had a wonderful midwife who said you don't get an award if you have no pain relief. I'd heard horror stories of friends labours, mine was wonderful, obviously had pain but after an epidural was so calm and peaceful, and I was walking around just after.
@EtainRiera7 жыл бұрын
The reason many women choose to not use pain relief like epidurals during labour is because there is risks attached to using them that can affect the mother and the baby. I respect women who choose to use pain relief and those who choose to use none, we shouldn't demonise either one of these women.
@AmazinGraceXOXO17 жыл бұрын
Twiggy Rose most people dont realize that by the time the drug even gets into your blood stream the baby will be out.and for people that think Epidural gets you drugged up. i dont know what kind of epidural they be getting cause mine totaly saved me! it made me numb but to where i could actually enjoy and participate in what was happening, rather than being almost unconscious from the pain.. i was FULLY there. Aware. and it was magical. I experienced the birth of my daughter and it was calm, and soothing and truly memorable. my first child i will always remember it as a nightmare. i remember screaming and crying and the whole experience was tarnished. i just wanted baby the fuck out. So people dont understand not everyone feels the same, some people need a little help.theres nothing wrong with that. I mean they came out with this stuff so women didnt have to suffer while doing the most beautiful thing in the world. Trust me it wont get your baby high. Why do people think that? By the time it got there,baby would be out in your arms anyway. Besides with all the law suits you think doctors are gona get your baby high?
@chloecraig30127 жыл бұрын
Twiggy Rose I gave birth with no pain relief, and honestly it was great, but I totally understand and respect women who take the epidural! For me, I really just wanted to experience birth and be present for as much of it as possible. Pain was just part of the experience, not necessarily a bad thing. When my mum gave birth to me (20+ years ago) she had an epidural. She couldn't move, it prolonged labour, she ended up peeing on herself because she still couldn't feel her legs hours after birth. I was unaware epidurals are better than that now, but I really wanted to be mobile throughout and after my labour. Just a perspective from the other side!

Wow, sam! I cannot believe that you are a mother now. Everything is so different now for you. I still remember you from 2010, so young. It amazes me to this day how your life has changed. I believe you are a few years older than I am. So, remembering you from 2010 to now really makes me feel so nostalgic. Seeing you find someone you love so deeply after everything, and then becoming a mother really makes me feel so emotional. I do not know why but I think it is because I have been following you for quite a while. And I may not know you personally but you have made a difference in my life with your videos. Not only that but also with how open you have been throughout these years. In all your videos, I have seen how you have slowly become this beautiful, self-loving woman with a big kind heart. You have transmitted that part of yourself to others, if not others, then at least to me. You have shown me to be comfortable within my skin and to be open-minded. So, thank you Sam. Thank you for shaping a piece of my life with your videos and presence in this world. If it wasn't for you, I would not be who I am today. In you, I found a "friend" I could look up to when things get messy in this life. Thank you for existing! I wish you lots of happiness and love to your new little family

It's so nice that you guys have options over in the UK. Here in America SO MANY hospitals only give you the option of being on your back with your feet in stirrups. Anything else isn't covered by insurance or isn't available at all.

Yes and doctors can use the fact that you're vulnerable to limit your options or even take advantage of you. I know a woman who was taken into another room away from her husband with a bunch of medical students and was examined by them for learning purposes without her consent. She was in too much pain and under too much medication to resist. American healthcare is a sick joke that takes advantage of poor people.

for all of those that don't know what a sweep is (including me, before I researched!) During an internal examination, your midwife or doctor sweeps their finger around your cervix. This action should separate the membranes of the amniotic sac surrounding your baby from your cervix.

Sam that was the most interesting labour story i have watched, short and sweet. Some people put up labour videos that are like 60 minutes long!!! She is so gorgeous little Indie

I'm 35 weeks, and I just wanted to say that it was great to hear such a positive take on an epidural free labour. I've watched so many vlogs where women get epidurals that I was starting to think an epidural free labour wasn't even possible. Don't get me wrong, I'm not anti pain killers, I just don't want to go into it so scared that I won't be able to do it with them.

Does the pain ease immediately after labour or does it take some time?

With having my kids it did. The worst pain i would say are contractions and pushing, but after they were born i felt immediate relief (although it does feel sore for a while and going to the toilet for the first time is the scariest thing in life lol!)

If its a straight forward vaginal birth, once baby is out you're too distracted to notice although you're very sore down there as they stitch you up. I don't remember any pain once my baby was out or even delivering the placenta I hardly took notice

summ3rnightfashion as soon as the baby comes I felt great and the little pain I did have I didn't really notice cause it was nothing compared to labor and delivery.

summ3rnightfashion hello, pain goes away immediately because all of endorphines and hormons. then some discomfort is noticed after a day but if generally you had a healthy pregnancy and delivery, you would forget it all.

summ3rnightfashion it's the days after that are painfully especially if you tear and have to get stitches

OH MY GOSH!!!!!! I used to watch your beauty and makeup videos religiously a couple of years back, I haven't been on KZbin often since but I'm now a bit older and expecting my first baby in 4 weeks so I've been doing research and watching other people's birth stories. Just crazy that I found your channel again and you have a beautiful little baby now!

Could you do a "things that they don't tell you about pregnancy and labour video"? I swear there are so many things that just aren't talked about!
