I personally wouldn't drive a lambo with a repaired tyre. After the repair is completed the tyre loses its speed rating. i don't think tyres with the rating extreme speed ratings like on this labo should technically be repaired. Any damage to the tyre carcass can spread/rip when subjected to extreme centrifugal force which can cause Tyre failure. I'm from the uk and we spell it tyre..
@oneslackr8 жыл бұрын
That's correct & good advice. Some shops won't even repair a super high performance tire for this very reason. They don't want to be liable if something happens. I went to a shop once that did repair my speed rated tire but I had to sign a waiver that stated they didn't guarantee the repair & that I understood that the tires speed rating no longer applied.

2:42 if the alternator wasn't working properly you wouldn't be able to go anywhere at all with a dead battery. If the alternator is working properly, but the battery is dead, you don't need the battery. You can jump the car, take the battery out, and continue driving. You just wouldn't be able to start it again if you shut it off. Alternators provide enough electric charge to both charge the battery and power the majority of the functions which require electrical power by the vehicle. In cases of high power draw the battery is going to be utilized, but the majority of the time (in normal use-cases), the battery is not needed for a car to function properly once started. Like I said, you can literally take the battery out of a car when it's running and it will not shut off.

Your typical Diehard, Interstate, etc _suck_ because they're wet cells and they *all* leak acid eventually. When that gets on your car you're in a world of hurt. The yellow top (deep cycle) is much better if you're going to be running massive sound systems with the car turned off or letting the car sit for weeks. I have a yellow top in a truck that sits unused for months, uses a winch and such. That battery has been abused as all hell for over 15 years and still going strong.

Lamborghini is garbage.. Reasons: Impractical, you are worried about it 24/7 if you are parked publicly. Horrid build quality, leather starts to shrink, car starts to become a pile of shit after surpassing 50k miles. Every part costs a fortune to repair, bumper for a 2006 gallardo is 5000 dollars! I can buy 2 cars for the price of that. Not good for a daily driver which you should be able to do if you are going to spend 100k for a pile of shit like this. Nice car, fast, and a head turner, but it's impractical.. Toyota life span: 20+ years as a daily driver Lamborghini life span: 7+ years as a daily driver.

What you do is to measure the voltage down the cables to the battery while its running to see how the alternater is with a cheap volt meter. For a normal car it should be up around 13.5 volts.
@edwardrex64588 жыл бұрын
If the battery worked fine a short time ago and does not now, it's worth removing and cleaning just the connectors. A little corrosion can lead to intermittent power issues when the battery is fine. I would buy some $5 gloves so as not to mark up my Lambo gloves.

Batteries can last for 10 years but 5 is closer nowadays. Usually batteries are swapped only because they are empty but simple recharge would be enough. If you drive too short distances, alternator won't have enough time to charge battery up from the startup of large engine and eventually car won't start.
@wandering_moto8 жыл бұрын
If your alt was bad, there would be a light on the dash that looks like a little battery. If it was the starter, it never would've turned over. You would hear a "thunk" sound as the starter gear engages, but that would be it. You'll be fine with just a battery.

I put one of those Optima batteries in my Miata, which sits in the garage for months at a time. It sucked! Had to replace it after a year (of very little driving). I bought the best battery that Autozone sells and it has been far better and a lot cheaper. I don't even let it sit on the trickle that much and it always starts right up. Maybe you will have better luck since you are daily driving mostly. One thing you demonstrated is why these types of cars cost so much for maintenance. A normal battery replacement on a car takes around 30 minutes. With all that you have to do on the Lambo it would take well over an hour and a lot more money if you were paying a mechanic, which is very cool that you did it yourself. I met a guy that owned a Ferrari F355. He said to replace the serpentine belt that on most cars takes about 30 minutes, you have to REMOVE THE ENGINE!!!
@tommcetx8 жыл бұрын
I tried this in my 2008 BMW M3. Followed all the online videos. Did everything perfect and the car would not start. Right when I was about to get it towed to the dealer (free thanks to AAA), it managed to turn over just a couple times and start up. Drove it to dealer only to find out all new batteries need to be "registered" with the car ECU. Despite getting to keep my new $140 battery, which they agreed was installed correctly, I was charged $200 for diagnostics and battery registration. What a bunch of BS for BMW to force you to replace something as simple as a battery at the dealership.

dude, buy a voltmeter. you can diagnose a lot of stuff, without knowing almost anything, just by looking at the current battery voltage. the optima battery will not hold up to going dead as well as a normal lead acid battery. it is better, but.. best thing is to leave a small solar maintenance charger on the battery when you leave the car unattended.

You need to have the Alternator tested using a meter. Yes the battery could have ended its life but if its not getting charged properly then your new battery will suffer. Its always one or the other. The first thing always is to test the battery because they can tell if its had its day. People don't realise that the Alternator is just a built in battery charger. If you let the battery cells go dry the batteries life will be very short. Just a little tip before your big trip. I have lots of experience in this game. excellent vid

Only the Italians would make something so simple as replacing the battery as needlessly complex and annoying as this. Obviously, their assumption is no self-respecting Lamborghini owner would ever want to replace their own battery themselves, thereby eliminating any need to engineer the access to the battery compartment in a way that would make the task a 5-minute inconvenience at most.
