I don't think so. They didn't plan such things. Lots of these silly things just happened and they kept the funniest things in the show while cutting the rest. What they planned for was when they were putting things on fire or doing car stunts.

To be fair to poor Clarkson here.. how in God's name would the log be able to bound up two metres, forwards, to hit the window? It doesn't make sense. Mind you we know how now..
