When you look at the modern car industry and the new technology that has been introduced reducing reliability and the simplicity of driving. DPF, EGR, Complex hybrid, depreciating EV batteries to name a few. I don’t think there has ever been a better time to restore vehicles like this to their former glory. Once you have finished, it will outlast anything I see on today’s new car lot. I will follow with interest.

100% mate, well said and facts! I work with new cars all the time the drive me crazy, all the shit that comes in them, people usually end up hating. the technology is just an upsell like at MacDonalds most of it is not user friendly and and garbage, technology should make it easier not harder, there is such a disconnect between the vehicle corporates and the consumer its just a joke and it will bite them in the arse as it is starting to now! The best sustainability model is to rebuild and refresh older cars! That's true green clean and future proofing!

Thank god you kept the safari and not replace with one of those stainless bogan snorkels, that look like a piece of sewerage pipe stuck to the side, flares look much better covering the wider tires, shame they don't have a better fixing system, hope they hold up off road if bumped,. What colour are you going, are you changing it ?, Sandy Taupe looks nice on the Landcruiser's with black accessories, or something like Ranger Conquer Grey looks real nice with black accessories, also consider upgrading your electrical to bigger Lithium 200A or 400A with solar and Victron mppt, this will give you all the power you need, look at Li-Time batteries I'm running these now 200A Plus version with 200A BMS $600, 5 year warranty and been super reliable.

Rivnuts rock and are probably the best way to fit your flares. Would have liked to see a bit more on removal of the windscreen. Am slow timing the removal of one on a early 90s Toyota and unsure what to do after removing the lower outer part. Everything else seems very solid and unsure what to do next.

I would have just fixed those guards kept the old flairs and added rubber on the bottom, to make it wider. It is a 4WD so likely to get scratched and dented again. Why didn't you wrap or raptor paint it or do you want to look like a original car?
