In case you're still trying to decide 6 months later... Consider listening to the voice in your head warning you about the complications. Ask yourself if the potential devastation of lifelong ocular pain and distorted vision outweighs the potential convenience of not having to wear glasses. Remember you can't reverse the procedure, whether the outcome is good or bad. It's great that most people have a positive result, but if you don't then you won't care how satisfied most people are. Good luck.

Had mine today. Very easy. Granted my vision was only 20/50. I started wearing glasses/contacts about 4-5 months ago and just couldn’t or didn’t want to deal with them after 35 years of not having them. Vision was hazy and there was slight discomfort on the drive home. I tried to nap. Couldn’t, but even after laying done with my eyes closed for about 90 min I opened them and could see damn near everything. I’m about 14 hours post procedure now and I’m dealing with some haziness around white lights. That’s it. Cant wait to see how tomorrow is. I would recommend this for anyone who is eligible.

I don't know what my eyes are but I can't read a stop sign clearly at anything past 25 yards and even there, it's fuzzy. I want to get LASIK because I'm tired of having to worry about my glasses and cleaning them and contacts are a no go (can't keep my eye open with something coming at it like that) but I fear losing my vision. If I go blind, I flat out can't do my job and will have to quit. I've just got this job and the pay is amazing and I'm able to afford to do things I never have been able to. Hell, the vision insurance from my job is the reason I'm even able to consider getting it at all. Still, I remember getting my first pair of glasses. To be able to see the fibers in the carpet without them being an inch from my eye was the most amazing feeling I'd had up until that point in my life and I image getting LASIK would produce the same result.

My brothers, sister, and I have Lasik. There is no such thing as 20/20 vision. If you happens to get 20/20 vision, it's Lasik 20/20 and not the normal vision. The surgery damage the eyes, though the doctor tells you it's to correct the eyes. Lasik narrow the vision of the eyes to let you see things clearer in a range. Though our vision improve, the closer range is impair. You may need reading glass to read things up close. My distance sight is not sharp, like wearing contact. My sister needs reading glass for short vision and my brother has to get glass because of night driving. I have to use night drop on occasion because my eyes get dry. Yes, our vision improve, but it's not perfect and it's not without compromise.

People say you cannot feel the laser. I my experience, I did felt a sting as the laser pass one of my eye. That's with 2 drops on the eyes to prevent the pain. Then, I tear up like a mad man at home. Yeah, the drop wear off. The tear never stop, until after I force myself to sleep. Then again, who can sleep when tears keep falling down. It felt like ants eating you eyeball or bunch of sand stirring into your eyes. If I know it was that bad, I would have buy the sleeping pill.
