The only time I’ve seen ppl go 82-0, it takes a ton of seasons. Like you’re gonna usually need at least 5, maybe like 7 idk. Also starting with a team like OKC that has a billion picks and young guys rly helps immensely. You NEED 5 star proficiency. You should be hiring Stauffer off rip. The person I saw do it most recently was prolly Goonigan, I haven’t watched him in a minute idk if I’m even subbed anymore…but he’s done it prolly 3-4 times (not just in 2k23 lol) or so. I’d suggest watching one of his 82-0’s. But you rly need that advantage of having the assets right away. I’ve never seen someone do it in a fantasy draft tbh.

You need a 5 star proficiency, while also adjusting shooting tendencies. And that means even though a player has a high three point, if he isn’t “the guy” his tendency should be in the 50s or something. It’s so over the top to get to 82-0

At the end of the day you’re at the mercy of the sim engine, however there were multiple points where things could’ve been handled better. You let players go that could be swapped for picks, you let picks go unused that could be upgraded to better assets, and you ignored coaching until it was too late. challenge idea, go to the wheel of teams, and whatever team you land on, you have to recreate it. For example, you land on the suns, you go to 2k, do a fantasy draft, and with the assets, you need to get all the current suns players (bradley beal, devin booker, KD, ayton, etc) but once you get everyone, if you don’t feel confident that you can win a championship, you make trades to make them better

Kenny I tried an 82-0 challenge where I got Luka, Tatum, Jokic at the 4 and Wemby at the 5 and I ended up going 81-1. I used Michael Stauffer (Gotta get him right away) but ran Balanced. The key to this challenge isn't just high overalls but getting high Offensive Consistency. All it takes with a 7-8 man rotation is 2 of the starters to have bad shooting nights and the games end up a lot closer and some even end up as a loss. My loss was in the 3rd last game of the season and it was to Steph Curry who hit 13 3's against me and Luka had a bad shooting night going 2-13. It was still only a 3 point loss too. Trust me Jokic at the 4 with Wemby at the 5 is BROKEN. I just sent Wemby to Potential camp for the first season or so and Jokic to Athleticism camp. I got a really good 82 Ovr rookie 6'6 PG (Similar to Simms) which rounded out my starting 5. Your bench was better but I turned off injuries and ran the starters 40 minutes. Gotta give the Jokic/Wemby strat a try. It's insane.

1. Prioritize getting bigmen. Maybe start with trying to get Embiid and Jokic because rebounding is so important in 2k simulation. 2. Get tall players at every position. You made Anthony Edwards the SF at 6'4 even though you had the auto-generated dude who was 6'7. Would have definitely helped because tall players do better in simulation and at defending their position even if their defense isn't the best. If you had a lineup of something like Cade Cunningham, auto-generated dude, Jayson Tatum, Embiid, and Jokic I think you would have had a better shot. And all of those guys were definitely obtainable if that's what you went for. 3. You need to focus way more on the coaching staff. And not just the head coach. Get the best possible coaches you can for every coaching position and don't worry as much about what their default system is. Focus more on their grades and their badges. 4. Change tendencies (if you don't think it is cheating, which I don't think it is because 2k doesn't give any other option). When you traded for Jarret Allen and Mark Williams, I think they were attempting threes because 2k is dumb as has centers shoot like 300 threes a year. 5. I would probably shoot for an 8 man rotation with 1 guard, 1 wing, and 1 bigman I think starting off bad like you did is a great strategy, as well as trading for those guys who sit in free agency and sign for the minimum. I think if you tried these ideas you could definitely go 82-0

Kenny, I think you have a little misunderstanding of how the salary cap works. 1. Once you go over the salary cap, there is no point in declining those first round picks that dont hit, you can always sign them and get any asset back. 2. When you say something like “we can’t pay all our young players” I mean thats not true. You can have a billion dollar cap if you’re just resigning the RFAs 3. Of course when its time to re-sign the UFAs, you wont have enough money assuming you dont have bird rights, but either way you can trade those players away on their last year of their deal and flip them for another superstar making more money on longer deals. 4. Any deal you make, you should be interested on taking on more money. Cuz then you can always chop that player up into more role players. The only time you should be shedding salary is during that pick acquiring first season , and so you can land those pick FAs in the beginning
