15 years on the bounce I've gone to this festival but their greed had just gone too far. I'm making my stand now and won't be going back unless something changes. Don't get me wrong, I had a great time but I can't tolerate them taking the mickey any longer. Here's my last Donington VLOG. 15 years on the bounce. Supported them through the pandemic, rolled over tickets, bought pandemic merch etc. How do they repay us? Binning the loyalty scheme and hiking the prices way way above inflation. The final straw is that their security and welfare are actually hopeless in the face of a real emergency.

Absolutely feel the same as you me ol mucker. My dad, my brother and myself chucked it also, my dad's 73 now and the horrendous conditions and facilities just don't make it possible anymore for him , we had many happy years watching some fantastic band but laterally its got a bit shitty.. its an expensive trip to travel from the west of Scotland nowadays, unfortunately its time to just see the bands locally. Watched the vlog and nearly fell out of my bed.. quite a number of yrs ago I was gona purchase a number plate from the DVLA..it was in my basket and pondered wether to continue with the purchase having just purchased a personal plate that had my initials.. Having already spent £££ on that plate I reluctantly let the other one go being £660.. Several weeks went by and on checking the plate was still there and a few times placed it back into my basket. Then one day it had gone😢😢 Unbelievably as I watch this vlog there it was on your van.😊😊 So glad you had it being a rocker.. obviously I wanted it for Dio the Devil..and My name is David..or in Welsh Dai..I see your surname is Delvin so that also makes sense.Glad it was a Celtic brother and fellow member of the Rock family who had it..😎

Loved RJD since I saw him in 84 and my nickname is devil or devilman because of my name. She got it for £294 though 😂. Thanks for watching and commenting. Hopefully see you at a festival some time. After attending from the early days MOR 1980, 1981, 1988 and DL 2010, 2012, 2013, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019 I decided 2023 was my last download When they decided to shamelessly price gouge and scam customers with this so called dynamic pricing system I decided that was enough They can shove it I’m to Bloodstock in two weeks Thanks for the video 👍

Me and my partner have done it for years since 2011 and we both said this one is our last full one for a long time. It's broken my heart but I just feel they want money more than to make it a fun experience anymore.

Looking at other festivals and they all have sheltered rest areas and attractions away from the music to browse. Everything at Download is built for one reason and that is to extract your cash. They've even taken away the big dog to take your pics in front of. No expense spent.

Belladrum, Bloodstock, Stonedead, Orkney Rock fest and Monsterfest left for this year. All great although Belladrum line up is a bit pants this time round. Probably sack that off next year. Graspop will most likely replace Download next year.

Hi, i'm pretty much the same and i'm glad its not just me!!! ive supported it since 2008 and for the newer people they dont get why we're annoyed with the change. i fully agree that their pathetic excuses of security since covid is shameful. i was fine with change of layout etc, but loyalty scheme etc hit the nail on the head. i stopped using the toilets apart from arena and got a cheap bucket loo and bin bags and just did that instead. bag it and bin it. they really do need to rethink the logistic of it all really. i didnt go this year as last year was the final straw. focusing all my fun on Bloodstock and hopefully do as most others do which is venture over the pond for Hellfest/graspop who despite covid still managed to run a festival well

@@PeteDevlinootnaboot like you stated, the price increase is terrible plus they release small amount of tickets. I remember camper van tickets few years back. I did gen pop then quiet camp so used to lack of facilities but gets worse every year!

It it really sad, they did the same with Reading/Leeds starting selling 10k more tickets, made it unbearably busy. Looks like DL is going the same route. Here's to Bloodstock!

My last Leeds (19) it was only £90 for campervan. Had tickets for the cancelled Rage year too and that was cheap. My issue there was it was full of kids and no one watched the guitar acts. Watched Bob Vylan with about 12 people and 3 of them were Melvyn Benn and cohorts. This year felt busy at times but was nowt like last year. The problem is scheduling so that huge crowds walk together between stages rather than being spread out evenly over the site.

Great stuff! That’s crazy the prices for next year! £299 for campervan!!! Looked and standard parking is now £45?!?!? It’s a muddy field how can they justify it we got stuck for over an hour one night this year. Been saying I’m moving to graspop for years, but this is it now. Hi Simon, thanks for watching. I should clarify, I triple bagged the Bog in a Bag and put it with the rest of my rubbish in a green garden refuse sack. BSCH will verify. I'm not that much of an animal (anymore) 🤣 General camping isn't so much of a rip off if you are quick enough. I'm not saying I'll never go again but it would have to be a stellar line up that is exclusive and I'd obviously be too late for a van pass so it would be a hotel job. Incidentally teh hotel the AA put us up in was decent. We laughed at the no muddy boot signs. Yes I'll be at Bloodstock and look forward to seeing you.

Great coverage of the festival. Another vlog putting me to shame 👍 I missed a lot this year due to too many clashes and trying to get hold of people. Agree with the pricing. That’s why I’m out too. If the money was being spent on improving the experience I could get on board. Shame I never bumped into you this year. Wasn’t sure if it was download or bloodstock I saw you last year. Was Bloodstock. I'll be looking out for you again this year. In fact, now that campervans have to walk through Midgard to get to the arena, you may get gatecrashed. I may make a follow up vid to back up all the claims but for campervan at least facilities have got worse for the price hikes. The shuttle buses were to unreliable to make district X viable outside of arena times. It's honestly a scam, they care not once they have your cash. Nowt wrong with your vlogs BTW, you do you.

I've haven't been to download since 2010. Because they priced me out. And like you said, they have the monopoly I hear 2000 Trees is getting really good. There are no mainstream bands. But miles cheaper and in a nicer surroundings

Great video as always . In total agreement about the money grabbers that are livenation / download . I went every year from 2007 to 2017 then group stoped going , me and one mate went back in 2019 and that was the final straw . As you say so sick of them increasing the price on everything and reducing the experiance year on year so feel you have to upgrade and do some form of vip that is so expensive . Like you I will not return until things improve . Roll on bloodstock .

This was my first year at download but I wasn't impressed. The organization and layout were really poor. It just seemed like they had no idea how to deal with the rain and the mud. I'm probably going to try grasspop next year. Watching videos of this year which had very heavy rain they really knew how to deal with it, wood chip and boarding laid down, multiple tented areas in the arena to take refuge. At download you were just left to get soaked when the rain came, abysmal. Plus you could barely move any where because of the mud, it really spoiled things from Saturday onwards. Also the layout was shit, they desperately needed a bar to the East of the main stage, where they had a row of duplicated food stands (that people were getting food poisoning from). Also the toilets in the Arena were at the bottom of a hill so became flooded, muddy and disgusting. We ended up leaving the arena and using the row of 10 portaloos outside when we needed to go.

Yeah there's only one Wargasm in the UK. I've seen them a few times and tried to like them but just can't. They're pretty pish even if Milky is miming some of her lines now. Mind you they're not alone in that. They've been given a push through having a family member high in the music industry but can't see them getting far. I doubt the other Wargasm have the might and resources to enforce a cease and desist on them though. Be fun to watch.
