Some of you may have noticed the lack of singleplayer speedruns. At the start of 2023 I put some effort into trying to get back into them by practicing and doing runs. This went so poorly that the footage never saw the light of day, until now. These (potentially) last episodes of How The Speedrun Ended document why I will probably never return to singleplayer story speedruns. I do plan to do some runs of the minor categories, and continue GTA 5 challenge runs, but it is fairly safe to say that it is unlikely I will ever complete another full run of GTA 5. I will be releasing all my personal bests and world records to www.youtube.com/@DarkViperAULivestreams at some stage.

I wrote a long explaination, KZbin deleted it. Basically, this footage is from the start of 2023 where I practiced and did some runs. It all went so horribly that the footage never released... until now. The four HTSE that will release may be my last singleplayer story speedruns...ever. Enjoy.

After 3 years, it’s sad to know that I’ll never be there live where he’ll complete a full speedrun. I accepted the fact Matto has moved on and his heart lies somewhere else. I’ll still continue to enjoy his videos. After all, Matto’s personality and solid morals has drawn me in and kept me here.

Definitly will be missed, many nights I watched HTSE to fall asleep, but since you evolved so much with your content, there is no grief here. It is a pleasent memory of the past, which can be re-lived thanks to so many HTSE end full runs, Hopefully soon on the VODs channel in chronological order. Anyway, how your content has changed, just compared to last year, is incredible. It's still DarkViper as we know and love him, but with more fun and finesse in editing. Thanks to the great collaboration of probably your editors. You continue to evolve and only that can help to stay relevant. It's not drastic changes, but small, steady steps and we can keep up so well. But the dream lives on for Matto to tackle speedruns again sometime in GTA 6. Here comes a wonderful future.

Hi! No matter how sad it is that these are probably the last episodes of HTSE, I hope this decision will make you happier in the long run. Failing things is natural; we are all human, so you shouldn't worry about something going poorly or wrong. It's usually just a matter of time and practice (even if sometimes you might feel stuck and not be progressing). That being said, I hope that if you find more motivation to learn and strive to be the best at what you used to be the best at, you will get it! Boop.

All this time you were not doing singleplayer speedruns, I kept thinking to myself "Man I'm looking forward to see another full 10 hour 100% run", as this made me start watching your content. I always loved your singleplayer videos and streams the most as they felt like a true nice place to be. Just you playing the game, focussing and sometimes reading chat on the more quiet parts of the game. Having the chillhop music in the background.. it just felt complete in a way. Sad to hear you're moving away from this and you start focussing on something else. I'll keep watching your content, as you made me smile hundred times with your videos, but there will always be the hope that you return to the original content that made your channel grow, the singleplayer speedruns and content. Don't know if you'll ever read this, but hopefully you are enjoying the descission you made; for now and years to come.

I usually like to just silently sit and watch the videos but on a weird level this kind of saddens me. I started watching in mid 2019 when this channel was all about speedrunning. I will not expect this comment to have any impact on what Matt is going to do, nor do I really want it to since this is his channel, his livelihood and his content. I sadly was not able to read the explaination mentioned in the pinned comment but I also do not necessarily need to since even a simple "I don't feel like it anymore lol" would be enough of a reason. I will miss HTSE but I also enjoy the other content (aside from the running through LS challenges but that's not important) and hope that Matto will continue bringing out good content c:
