Hey dad how do you know every car make and model? It's from digging them up metal detecting for 40 years son! lol When you think you've dug up about every car or truck toy model possible when another new one pops up. This year I found a great early hotwheel of the VW bug. Then a few weeks back I found my very first FIRE RESCUE / EMT Hover Craft. That's the last thing I ever expected to see in toy vehicles. Ive seen the transformers and the Rat Fink and other cars I didn't pay attention to over the years. I know they're not old coins, buttons or relics from the Revo or Civil War but they are fun to find just for the stories behind the toys or even the vehicles. Maybe the Lesney and tootsie's are a little more collectible they're all fun to see for the old childhood momeries. And congratulations on the other finds and thanks for the historical pics that comes with them thats what makes your videos special 👍 Good Luck in 2024 I wish you a bucket ful of bucket listers I jave a question. The round 15" coiltek coil is that a DD or a concentric coil?
@FindingAmerica
@FindingAmerica 9 ай бұрын
It's funny but I also found a Lesney hovercraft in that very same yard a year or so ago. It was the type that cruise the Thames in London. Glad that you enjoyed watching this one and that 15" coil is a DD. Hope you find many amazing things this year! ATB Greg

The incidental finds can be just as interesting or better than the target you were chasing, I love it when that happens, more often than not for me its usually a marble, but i have found one plastic toy native American, and some other odd items, when I find a hole like that I usually keep searching it in the hope of another surprise, Thanks for a wonderful year of detecting with you, Looking forward to your hunts of 2024. A belated Happy New Year to you and your family. Cheers!

Hi Greg, great video i are about to buy a new coil for my 900. what would you recommend please the 10 x 5 or the 15 coiltec i struggle with weight because of shoulder? i had the 14 x 9 coiltec and had to wear a harness is the 15 heavy? because of the price do i pay that bit extra or go for the smaller one. #Thank you.

It depends on what you are needing the coil for. The 15" coil is going to be a bit heavy and it's main function is to hit the deeper targets. The 10X5 is great for general hunting and excellent for picking through heavy trash and iron areas. It gets very impressive depth as well.The 10X5 is absolutely awesome, light as a feather and your shoulder will love it. If you decide to get one from Kellyco don't forget to use our FAUSA code when you're purchasing it. If you haven't tried this yet when using larger or heavier coils, you might want to. I can swing the big coils all day long mainly because I shorten the shaft up a lot. I loosen the shaft, then hold the machine on my side while shortening the shaft up until the coil is sitting flat on the ground while my arm is straight down and fully extended. I will then tighten the shaft to that length. When I am swinging, my arm is fully extended straight down. My arm is not bent at the elbow trying to control and support the weight of the coil when I am swinging it. This takes away a lot of the elbow and shoulder fatigue when I am swinging a big and heavier coil. Hope this helps you. ATB Greg

Thank you for your reply, so would you recommend 15" short shaft, or 10x5? What depth has the 10x5 got please, compared to the 15" is there much difference between.

Those two coils are on completely different sides of the scale. The small coil is for hunting in high trashy or iron infested areas. The 15" is for going as deep as you can go. It all depends on what you want the coil for and what kind of hunting you do.

@@meerkatmal9103 If you are wanting it for beach detecting then I would definitely go with the 15". I would think that depth is more desired on the beach than target separation. With shortening your shaft it will help with the size and weight of the larger coil but since you already have a harness, you should be able to handle the 15" without any problem using that. I also checked with Kellyco just in case and the 15" is in stock. Hope this helps.
