MY LAST RACE!! Snetterton VLOG: Division 1 Superkart - My last Race Weekend! 😭😮

I cant believe it, but this is my LAST Superkart race weekend. I've had to think long and hard about this and it wasn't an easy decision. Ultimately any form of racing is a hugely expensive and for me, at this time in my life, i need to start prioritizing other commitments and ventures. I know deep down, I'll be back, but i need to build for my future so i can race again.
This Vlog is at Snetterton 300 Circuit, based in Norwich UK. Its a fantastic circuit and one of the quickest.
Race 1 - Started 22nd - Finished 8th. 🔥
Race 2 - Finished 5th. 🔥
Race 3 - Finished 5th. 🔥
I just want to say a huge thank you for everyone who has supported me on KZbin, i wish i could keep racing, but it's not financially possible, unless anyone wants to sponsor me ;) 🤣

@@MyRob10 Hi Rob: I raced 125 shifter karts on the big tracks here in the US along with the 250 guys. I also race formula ford back in the '70's. For me staying with the kart was more of a logistics thing otherwise I would have returned to vintage formula ford. Formula ford is WAY less hectic on race days(specially if you have a couple of mates to help). No fooling around with carbs, aero, wheel width, wing position. Just jet the car ready for the next session. I know how addictive karting can be and wanting to prove yourself to those around you, but life's short, go for the fun. The big drawback with ff is you need a trailer and maybe more room to work on the the car, the buy in may be more and a shunt can be costly. Although, vintage FF hold their value and might increase. Did you take a hit when you sold your Anderson? Just my 2 cents. Cheers.

@@rickden8362 hey Rick! I’d love to go into formula Ford, especially with me being a bit heavier than the karting lads from the gym work I do! But it’s purely the capital needed to get started in that - that’s the killer I think!!

enjoyed all your videos, as someone who did short track karting in the past and plans to do div 1 in the future would you mind giving a ballpark figure for the all in cost of your Div 1 adventure? Wish you all the best in the future, there are always the prokart rentals when you need your fix without breaking the bank!

I remember starting in karts late 80's (100 clubman) and you could run on shoestring. By the time I packed it in the ladies in the lap counting caravan had gone and replaced with expensive transponder kit, people using telemetry and new tyres one each heat. Although work was the reason I gave up I still couldn't believe how much a season cost in 2010 Vs what it did in the late 80's.

Yeah costs have certainly gone up, but that might be because numbers for the sport has declined too? Higher volume = reduced prices! Low volume = high price! Such a shame and is almost counter intuitive unfortunately!!

Hello my friend! The twin engine Superkarts produce around 100bhp but only weigh around 115kg! So they are lightning quick!

Ok, so I'm a couple minutes in and it's why I stepped away from SCCA GT3 and went karting years ago. Any class of racing at the medium to highest levels is crazy expensive. That said, there's many ways to get track time, rally, Gymkhana, drags, and even karting in dirt to enjoy the rush and save your marriage 🤣. As you close in on age 60+ you will find there is always someone to run with and you don't stress as much. And finally It's like booze, it starts out fun and ends ugly. Keep your gear Rob. hance USA
