My Lhasa Song
(Traditional Tibetan Love song, written by the 6th Dalai Lama Gyatso Tsangyang Gyatso in the 17th Century)
This is DECHEN's song for reconciliation. Since her childhood it was her wish to one day perform in Lhasa and contribute to harmony, peace and reconciliation.
It was a historic moment for her when in August 2023, after 64 years China's Tibet Autonomous Region (TAR) opened the door for her as the first Tibetan Artist from outside of Tibet to perform this song in Lhasa, the place of the Gods and her roots.

tschu la yig tschung kur wä
tam la säl cha ma chung
ön kyang tschu nang nga mö
thug la sha rog nang dhang
ཆུ་ལ་ཡིག་ཆུང་བསྐུར་བས།
གཏམ་ལ་གསལ་ཆ་མ་བྱུང།
འོན་ཀྱང་ཆུ་ནང་ཉ་མོས།
ཐུགས་ལ་བཞག་རོགས་གནང་དང།
I sent a letter to my loved one through the river
But my letter remained unanswered.
Water goddess in the river, please don’t forget to help me
that it will reach my loved one.

No matter how hard I paddled my boat across the other shore,
The power of my Karma took the boat down the stream.

Like a stallion that keeps looking back not wanting to move on because
he was not able to finish his feed.

When my mind was restless and did not give peace to my body
I went to walk along the Bharkhor and there
What a beautiful surprise, I met my sweet love
