You need to see if they will send you to Newhouse. I've known a few AF Combat Camera journalists that have been. Some of the best photo journalists out there.

Before you are officially enlisted in the military you take a test called an ASVAP. Differnet jobs require different scores. Photographers score is about 80ish I believe. With that said, you don't always get the job you want. You can try but its a wierd process that depends on a lot of different factors. Plus the fact its already a pretty small career field can ake it difficult. All that said, if your patient, willing and passionate I think anybody could do it. Thanks for watching and commenting. France is dope

Grats Bro. I did it for over 15 years. Everything is diferent behind cameras, the tactical area is the best.

Got one question for ya; I'm signing my contract and re-enlisting to the PA army guard in the next two weeks. Can I use my cameras over what they provide? I have digital and film cameras to make things pop and personally trust my 35mm cameras more than I trust my cannon.

I was a Navy Photojournalist (Fojo). I consider my tour on an aircraft carrier as being in a playground sandbox - all those men (and women) and planes and gear all there for me to photograph.

What branch are you a part of? Also, what job did you have before becoming a photo journalist? Last question… what kind of stories do you write about & where do you publish them?

Do each of the branches have their own photo units? I’m curious also to know what military photo school is like. Very interesting video the first on this topic I’ve seen.
