Dalia, watching your "slower" approach to projects has been so wonderful this past year. Being yourself is always going to be the key to success! This style has made me feel better about my own slower pace when working on crafts or furniture projects, and I've really enjoyed and appreciated you sharing this with us. Can't wait for 2022 :)

I love how you talk about the struggle having adhd. I have adhd myself. All my life people have told me that adhd is no excuse, and I have learned to never use it as one. I have burned myself completely out by trying to meet everyone else's standards. I also have PTSD and was misdiagnosed with bipolar for many years (because i had adhd combined with ptsd) I think if I had the proper understanding and people who told me its ok to do thing at my own pace, i would have had an better understanding of my own limits by now. I dont work atm but I have a love for interior desig. I found your youtube account today and i've watched non stop now for hours. I love your content from start to end, thank you for showing me that it is possible ❤️

Dalia, I'm so glad you shared this with us. I totally feel you on the exhaustion and need to constantly produce. Its a constant battle. I think many creators are feeling that burnout and if we collectively worked on shifting that culture, these platforms will also take notice. We always fear the algorithm and I think it's time we go back to just creating for joy!
@DIYDalia2 жыл бұрын
Hey Letitia 👋 100% agree with you. Creator burnout is so real. The constant drive to put out new completely finished projects every week is just not sustainable and we have to start working at a healthier pace. What's nice is that viewers do understand and are supportive. Hope you have an amazing 2022 filled with joy and balance ❤️

I’ve just spent a day and half going through all your segments… so good. I’m 64, and have known that every project that I try, that I can do this. Not always true, but love the resilience of my mind. I love that about you too. I’m creative in the decor part, not so much in the actual building like you. You are a breath of fresh air… being different is what makes us unique. Im about to give up my 1100 sq ft home for 450 space. Your dreams become your reality.

I can always count on your videos to be relaxing and fun without giving me the feeling that I don't do enough, but instead it gives me the feeling that any progress is worth it, even if it takes time. I enjoy the faster paced videos others make as well, but I wouldn't say I prefer that style. It's more that I watch what feels like a good match for my energy and mood. Keep doing you!

Never take what you see from the outside as reality. Drew (Lone Fox) has been struggling and is now taking your approach in that he's taking the time to figure out how he can do his thing in a way that works for him. I am so glad that you both have shared your stories and struggles because it does show people that their dreams are possible if approached from their own strengths and talents.

Relate to so much that you're saying about the ADHD and just not being able to do things the way that others can do it. It causes me a lot of stress and overwhelm so it's nice to see someone break out of that and figure out how to live a happier life even with those challenges.

Here’s my honest feedback: I found your channel about a year ago after KZbin recommended one of your videos. Initially, II felt like it was another generic home decor channel that was trying too hard to be like the other home decor content creators on YT. But gradually, I think a little before you moved, I started to enjoy your laid back attitude, your more zen-like approach to home decor, and the fact that you didn’t have to act all zany to be entertaining- and I have a short attention span! So I say keep doing what you’re doing and don’t be afraid to do things differently! Edit: also, do a video of the DIYs you would do over again or would like to improve on :)

Thank you for sharing this with us. As a fellow youtuber with chronic health issues I can very much relate to the comparison trap. I’ve been doing KZbin for nearly 4 years (this is my second channel) and do feel I am held back because I physically cannot do as much as others are doing. I ended up starting a second channel (this one) last year because I felt stuck. I tried the crafty diys but much prefer bigger diys. Im about to embark on my first room makeover and it’s a little overwhelming but I’m so excited for it too. Im in awe of how you pull off these big projects I really am. I love love love the new direction you’ve taken your channel in. I’ve been watching you quite a while at this point and don’t think you’ve ever come across as happy as you seem right now. Congratulations on all the positive changes in your life.

I am so happy for you and your husband to have made this move last year. I to have struggled with ADD and I’m old enough to be your grandma. I have judged myself after watching how much many women seem to get done. I had a cousin remind me that many of those ladies’ homes behind the scenes are chaotic. They also don’t sleep very much because they’re staying up late while their children are asleep so they can make deadlines. I, like you , am very crafty, I can sew, make my own jewelry, I do mosaics, I can draw some and paint . I don’t feel that I’m great at this but I’m good enough that my family and friends admire my work. I’ve never sold anything. I gift some of my work to family and friends. What I’m telling you is to not be hard on yourself. Do try to manage your time as best you can and don’t take on to many projects at one time. If you’re like me, you have ideas swimming around in your head. Especially, after so watch diyers such as yourself. I get an idea and it sets in my head and I never get it done. At my age I am trying to downsize not pile stuff on. I don’t like clutter. I rarely thrift anymore. I just don’t need anything. My husband and I’ve been married almost 42 years. Sorry for being so long winded. May God bless you daily. Enjoy what you’re cable of and don’t try to be like others. You are a young and beautiful young lady. 😊❤️

You've been a light on KZbin, when I wanted something cool to watch and also get those feel good vibes. And your creativity is impressive. Your successful as your authentic self. Keep going! Also, thanks for sharing the wisdom from your former boss. I'll remember that! I also have heard, you're a dreamer, or had people who can't see the visions like I can. I love that "anything is possible" energy. My 2022 is to surround myself with more doers, dreamers and believers. I recently became a board member at our local Latin American Chamber of Commerce. I'm excited to give back to the community, but also was happy to find that the other board members are entrepreneurs, leaders and achievers. So it looks like I may broaden my circle after all....as I wanted to manifest. Here's to a beautiful 2022 for all of us!!!

H from Sweden🇸🇪i Dalia, I found your channel by a coincidence today ( feb.4) and I love it. . 💖💖 So personal. Please stay that way! And I noriced at once your "superpower" 😉🙂 Because I am that kind of person too and have been working professionally with "superchildren" for over 25 years as a preschool teacher Me having ADHD (inattentive type) too, know exactly what you are struggling with...... procrastination, perfection, trying to fit in and maybe having fear for not being accepted.... When I got diagnosed in September 2020 at the age of 55, every piece in MY jigsaw puzzle, fell into place. And for me the ADHD have been a blessing (whitout knowing about the diagnose, of course) for 25 years, working as a preschool teacher. I just want to say, yes, Lone Fox has a great channel and does it very well... However, He is he, and not you and h is channel is so well known and he have been doing this in a long time, so he can do it in his sleep... . You, on the other hand, are a one of a kind, a sparkling star and I see the glitter in your eyes. You are very special in your own way and so talented. You, like me, are a well of creative projects and that's one of our superpowers, isn't it!... Dig deep after your ideas, write them down and then put them into a schedule to get them done.....But don't hesitate, because you want them to be perfect... We all are beginners at first and need to make the misstakes to learn and make the things better next time! )..... Do not change the personality of the channel..... Maybe you just have to learn more about different things... Please do your channel your way and don't make it in a special way just to please others... Personality is the most important component when doing youtube and other creative things (my thoughts) and you seem to be a such warmhearted and humble person .... Let that shine and sparkle in your videos.... And the boss you had, he was a wise man so take his words to your heart!💖💖💖 Lots of Love!🇸🇪💖

Love this video, I feel like it gives a deeper way of getting to know you. Best of wishes for you I love your designs and ideas. BIG question for…how and or where do you tend to get your inspiration from??

You know, actually, one of my favourite things about you is what you describe as being "slower". Because honestly this slower process feels more natural and calm and thorough. Also, you happen to be really creative with the project ideas and even smarter with how you execute these projects. Just know that there is a type of people out here that resonates with you just the way you are. You don't need to feel guilty about it in any way.

I think that the slower paced approach is preferable. While anyone can churn out a quantity of videos to get clicks, people stay for quality content. I am glad that you made the change.

May I ask what province your 'hometown' is in? Reminds me of my home province, Nova Scotia (just curious, hope this isn't too invasive) :)
