My Life in the 'Movies': Performing the Archaeology of WW1 'Movy' - Motor Launch 286 | ARP 2023

My Life in the 'Movies' is the story of Suzanne's transdisciplinary practice research project whereby they interpret and perform the archaeology of WW1 'Movy' - Motor Launch 286 - within the vessel's haunted and decomposing remains. Suzanne's performance project: "Still Life 'Movy'", utilises poetry, sea shanties, personal memoirs of the WW1 Royal Naval Volunteer Reserve officers, narratives of her research participants, and her own narrative, to interpret the stories of the shipwrecked vessel, whose spectral and animated life is still moving.
Suzanne Marie Taylor is from Vancouver, Canada, and currently a third year PhD student in the School of Art, Design and Performance at the University of Portsmouth. Suzanne became interested in performing archaeology while performing at the archaeological site of the 1587 Rose Playhouse in London.
