Whitby's parking is horrendous and the North Yorkshire Council are money hungry and even charge blue badge holders in carparks. If you cant get it right what chance have we? Just think of it as pay one get one free if you pay up quickly lol

Church street is the worst for parking in Whitby, my wife cleans holiday cottages down there but you are only allowed to park for 40 minutes 😂

Gone are the days when you used to be able to park almost anywhere in Whitby. We normally use the Ringo app and park in Endeavour Wharf car park.

And City of York Council, £3.40 an hour in the City Centre, no concessions, goes up incrementally per hour, so, for example £13.60 for four hours.

Leave the depot, take a slow stroll to the local café collecting car numbers on route. Then whilst eating a full English filling in the tickets. Change venue for lunchtime, repeat actions. Deep in the mists of time when Policeman, sorry Police person's were responsible, we still got fined, but they weren't on a bonus, for how many they issued. That’s because… A double yellow line is a road marking that indicates that parking is not permitted at any time🤔 You can pick up and set down, but you can’t leave the car.

Trying to get parked in Whitby is mental at the best of times, especially if you are stopping overnight at a hotel. Personally I stopped visiting Whitby about five years ago, personally I prefer places like Ripon, Harrogate, Knaresborough and surrounding towns and villages.

We stay in a cottage every year and park on the Khyber Pass. I got a ticket one year because I didn't put the name of the cottage on the parking ticket! This year I got a ticket because I didn't realise I was meant to move my car on the Saturday morning for the Regatta Fair.

My Daughter lives in a permit only zone Simon. She has a permanent permit which goes on her windscreen like the old tax disc did. Why can't they just issue them to residents and a temporary one for visitors? Oh, I know, you won't make a mistake and get fined then and no money for the council. 🤔
