I love it when people chose to live life and define love in their own terms. Most often when a man has to leave the family and work far/abroad he is simply providing, but when a woman does the same people accuse her of "abandoning" her child. As long as all you do is for the wellbeing of your family, no one should have an issue with that. I am just glad that you made a commitment to support her dream and when the time came, you rose to the occasion. Such integrity is rare.

Inspirational! Almost always it is women who give up their careers, to stay at home and raise their family, when a man recognises the potential of his wife and is ready to step up and give her a chance to explore, it is absolutely commendable. Life is changing and some situations will need the man to make unconventional choices.

This has warmed the cockles of my heart. Your storytelling skills are on point, and you're hilarious! If only all married people would constantly remind themselves that they are a team, and that each member of the team needs to do what's best for the team. Brenda pursues her dream and it is paying off for the family, you're doing a fantastic parenting job, your child has a good, caring parent and constant contact with his mum... I'd say it's a win win win situation. Kudos, on breaking the stifling molds that previously defined the roles of spouses.

Hillary ... quite inspiring. Very few married couples understand that the true, meaningful and fulfilling love in marriage revolves around what you give or give up for the welfare of your partner than what you get from him or her for your welfare, especially in our contemporary "I, Me and Myself" world. That is a cost very few are prepared to pay in marriage and family. Thanks!

Bless your heart. Fathers and husbands that give beyond what the society expects are amazing people. Involved dads specifically give rise to men and women who are self assured and confident. If all dads were this involved in their kids lives and husbands this supportive, half of our problems as a society would be gone.

Sorry for all the insults you got from kilimani moms but I'm proud of you for not letting them get to you instead you stood tall and faced them. Fantastic yes you did the right thing and kudos to Brenda for trusting you to raise the baby without her. You're one strong man and you even deserve a man bra if they ever design them. You know the ones that have baby bottles with milk in them. I pray your family will have a chance to live in the same country soon because I am in the same long distance marriage and I understand how much you miss your partner. That baby is blessed to have such strong parents he will be an achiever like you both. You're a great role model to society. Yes love is sacrifice and the other person matters more than you. Great quote told with so much humor.
