I am so glad I ran across your channel. I was diagnosed with liver disease, stage 3 at the end of July. I went home thinking it was a death sentence. My regular Dr has been keeping watch of my liver enzymes. So I believed I just had a fatty liver. She finally sent me to a liver specialist and she did a liver biopsy and boom, I have stage 3 liver disease. Her nurse was the one who told me and didn't explain anything. I was ready to give up. She asked me if I wanted her to put me on research trial. I couldnt make any decisions because they didn't explain anything to me. I have not spoken to my Dr since that day. Luckily I called and made an appt. I hope to end out more in a few days. Thank you for sharing your story. 🤗🙏 sending hugs and prayers your way.

Make sure you trust your doctor and he explains everything to you. If not, find a new doctor. It will be a long relationship and both of you need to be able to talk and be honest with each other. I have been living with it for 7 and a half years now and I am doing fine. Just keep in mind that stage 3 NASH can turn into Cirrhosis pretty fast. So eat as fresh as you can and exercise (even if you start out walking down half the block at first. Good luck to you and I will message you the charts on what levels Your liver turns to Cirrhosis. You can always message me on Facebook if you need to talk or understand anything

Even though this video is dated it gave me a lot of great information. I was diagnosed with cirrhosis about a year ago so I’m still learning a lot. Thank you so much for your positive attitude. I look forward seeing additional videos.

Thank You I was diagnosed last December and I had NASH didn't drink. You helped me have hope. I went home thinking it was a death sentence. I do have varices, portal hypertension, labs whacky, had 3.1 liters of fluid removed from abdomen so ascites. Enlarged spleen and liver Still getting further tests but I am so glad you shared your experience. I am watching my sodium intake and on 2 diuretics, as well as a beta blocker. Thank you again for hope and making this.

Wow . . . that was very helpful and informative. Now I understand why they were able to diagnose me after a colonoscopy. Varices were found in my lower intestines. (I have a condition, Barrett's Esophagus, which probably prevented me from having Esophageal Varices.) 😮

Melinda, what do u do about sleep issues if you don’t mind me asking
@MelindaDavis2 жыл бұрын
If I am extremely tired, I will listen to my body and sleep. Most times I can’t sleep, I have tried everything except medication. My liver doctor said that having trouble sleeping is just part of Cirrhosis. So I think my next step is to try medication, lack of sleep is very hard on the body.

Melinda, I hope everything in July went well for you and your husband. I was wondering if you have any sleep issues with your liver disease?

July went good. I did have to get banded and was in pain from it for, but I am doing good. I have to go back the beginning of October for a scope and maybe banding. Erik did great with his surgery. Thank you for asking. I do have trouble sleeping, it is all part of Living with Cirrhosis. 🙂

My fiance just found out he has hepatitis C and he wasn't sick or anything that we knew, we were just going to get the treatment for the Hep C. Now we got a call that he has early cirrhosis and a lesion on his liver that has to be examined to make sure it's not malignant. I'm so scared, I can't quit crying and we were supposed to be getting married and I feel scared he's gonna die. He doesn't have any of the symptoms that I can tell so if they cure the hep c and will.it continue to progress?
@MelindaDavis2 жыл бұрын
Yes I am still doing good. I am so sorry to hear about your fiancé. Most people have a lesion on their liver with having Cirrhosis. I have two lesions and they are fine and staying the same even 6 years later. If they cure the hep C then that will help his liver a lot. And to help your Cirrhosis is all about eating healthy, exercise, no drinking or drugs. Like I have said “Cirrhosis does not mean a death sentence”. Let me know what they find out and I hope everything turns out ok with it.

It seems things that become sugar fast and the liver turns it into Fat (like Alcohol) it's what leads to a Fatty Liver and then all these other health issues..straight SUGAR or Sweeteners (like sweet drinks and sodas) are #2 just behind Alcohol in creating so many liver problems..If a person is a soda pop drinker for years, he/she will develop Liver problems too,maybe not fast like an Alcoholic, but for sure it will get there. Also, DIET sodas aren't any better because I developed a Fatty Liver and since I tend to watch my carbs intake; I don't do Keto per say, but I learn for good 15+ years about carbs/sugars and its relation with weight gain.Anyways, I was drinking Diet Sodas for 8 years and was found to have a Fatty Liver..It was very easy for me to pinpoint the culprit..Anyone reading this, cut out the Diet Sodas, those sweeteners might not affect your Blood Sugar levels/numbers from your Pancreas, but for sure it's creating havoc on your Liver and many people aren't aware of this. Good Luck to you all.
