How to edit in LR: 1.Load in Photoshop 2. Do 90% of the edit there 3. slap on a preset (tweak it a bit) 4. Done :D Funny thing is this really is how PROs actually do it. Presets are important for consistent results and style :)

Hey Manny, really appreciate this video. Concise and on point! Can you do a bit more of an in depth video on the MSI to help us creators consider why it may be good to use this new laptop, please? You’re the only person I’ve found on YT that specifically touched on how this laptop handles LR and photography apps and I’d like to know if this laptop would be a good choice between apple’s recent release of the new 2019 MBP 16”. Would be interested to hear how you managed the switch from Apple system in general. And how quick the MSI is when exporting and switching between LR & PS! Thanks man!

So when you post it on ig - do you let ig crop it so it fits on a post ? That’s my biggest thing cause I shoot mainly portrait angle cause of how much picture I can fit on ig- only problem is knowing how much room to leave so that when you post it on ig nothing important gets cropped

I actually need help with lightroom, so I take my photos in RAW, and when I export photos for printing I use tiff. I convert the photos in TIFF and it brings it about to 137 mb. However the printing company says I need at least 300 dpi for printing my photos. However, when I check my photos they're at 240 dpi. So can you not do big prints with lightroom??
@WorldXMovies
@WorldXMovies 4 жыл бұрын
You can actually change the Values in the Settings, that if you import it to Photoshop, it will make it 300dpi :)
@almirgomes5
@almirgomes5 4 жыл бұрын
You can change those settings when you're exporting your photos. Go to file/export and once you get this window go to the subtopic "image dimensions". In my computer I have 240ppi, I think that's the native resolution of my camera. Hope this helps you.
@almirgomes5
@almirgomes5 4 жыл бұрын
... and remember, when you increase the resolution you are interpolating, this always generates losses, even if small. another point, 300dpi is resolution for photos printed in graphics, because of the number of lines (resolution/2) (I worked in the graphic market for more than 20 years and I can say that).
@KoenMiseur
@KoenMiseur 4 жыл бұрын
I work in a printing shop and the 300dpi really only matters if u want to print it big, so or u want to print it real big (like A2 or bigger) 240dpi should be plenty! Also 137mb, that's alot for a printer, I'm wondering how much megapixels your photo has that it's that big!

What are your export settings for social media? When I export and post on social media, it always comes out low quality. (I am fully aware of IG compressing the photo.) But when I look at your photos and other photographer's photos on IG, they came out crispy and sharp! I export to JPG using the new Lightroom on the best quality. Anything I am missing? Any help is appreciated.

Manny, great vid. Did you use to be a Mac user? I ask because I have been for 11 years but am struggling to find one that I'm happy with performance-wise these days. Between that and apple's constant fashion over function to now only have USB-C is driving me mental. So if you were a Mac user, how are you finding the transition? I generally really dislike the MS OS and visually find it unappealing, but functionality-wise they appear to be the way to go now. Very different to when I initially started using Mac.
