I think My Little Pony really stood out from Barbie back in the 80's because a lot of kids love the idea of these peaceful, gentle little ponies living in a land full of monsters wanting to enslave them and steal their magic. And they are not so passive either. They mostly use wit, cunning, speed, and defensive magics, with their love and trust for one another, they can defeat these giant, terrifying, dark magic users. Barbie villain are mostly other humans, or a fellow magic user. My Little Pony really plays with the idea of Underdog protagonists well.

Megan is a really strong heroine too. She has no problem killing if the villain is evil enough.

She adores this particular movie; it holds a special place in her heart as one of her absolute favorite animated films. I found this after trying to find the “sea ponies song” to show my young kids. Thank you… this was my absolute FAV as a young kid and it was great to be able to show it to my littles (and watch it myself!) all these years later!

@Jack Wagon yeah; lauren faust brought a new type of creative vision which made a Really great show but the focus of the first ones wasnt even the shows lol it was the toys. and i think those are good they look cute and the cartoons have their moments too for something made to be a toy commercial its really not too bad hahah

There are some similarities between Firefly and Rainbow Dash. My favorite characters are Apple jack , Morning Glory, Posey, Wind Whisler , Gusty, Fizzy, Truly, Sweet Stuff , Princess Tiffany , Shady. Also Megan, Molly, Danny are very helpful to their friends .
