I'll never get used to that scene of Chrysalis clinging to the cocoons Celestia and Luna are in with her head twisted upside-down like that while we see Cadence in the one next to them fast asleep, twitching her hoof, totally unaware of having been kidnapped again and this time put into a cocoon with everyone else. As for this episode, seems like Chrysalis' plan with the evil clones was doomed to fail anyway. Not to mention her sanity looked to be crumbling with how long its been since she lost her throne, swarm, and pretty much everything but her life. Who knows, KP? Maybe Season 9 will provide some more clues to what could be done to convince Chrysalis to just give up and accept incarceration in Tartarus, or find a reason to give up her thirst for revenge and make amends with everyone.

Aside from desperately exacting revenge upon the Mane 6 (plus Starlight) for defeating her, the formation of the Equestrian History Society by reversed color schemed Queen Chrysalis actually painted a pretty nice picture of her.

Just a couple nit picks: 1:32 She got in with no trouble because she had an appointment. Twilight was expecting her. 2:29 Wait, the issue in that episode was that the elements themselves would be destroyed/drained of all power if used as Star Swirl intended, and thus not able to be returned. They didn't end up being drained so returning them was no problem.

I believe that this episode is some sort of reminder before the finale, like "remember that we have that one villian, who still is bad and wants revenge, and also don't forget about elements and tree of harmony, because they are pretty powerful". I think the plot of this finale has to do something with it and it'll be important later.

I have a feeling that whenever we see the pale colors that it is strictly meant for the audience, a few of which are young and may not quite understand the subtly of perceiving only a change in personality. I'm guessing the Mane 6 don't ever see the color difference.

Nathaniel Foga Not really because all of them act strange in one way or another. All of them was focused on Twilight Sparkle friendship retreat. Low colors or not the mane 6 wouldn’t actually accused one another of being different in anyway.

I really like this episode a lot and I'm pretty sure it's going to end up being one of the key episodes of the entire series let own season. I can tell your whole team agreed and really brought it for this review great job everyone. It's nice to see you treat these videos with the same kind of emotional intelligence and passion as the actual show staff does.

I'm starting to think she's always been incompetent. Even in her debut episode she lost because she's a terrible actress and basically teleported Twilight straight to the real Cadance, not a very smart move. The only difference is now she doesn't have an army to blame for her short comings.

Aside from the episode’s anticlimax, I only have one complaint about it. Rarity spent a decent amount of time with the real Applejack, who has a red cutie mark, and fake Applejack, who had a green one. You’d think someone with Rarity’s attentiveness-to-detail would notice such a drastic change, even if other things _were_ going on.

In bug queen's defense, the elements of plot convenience don't come with an instruction manual. I don't remember pinkie explaining how they work, just where to find them. I'm pretty sure none of the main six know how their elements fully works, it just turns on at the right time and we're in season 8.

2:13 hey, remember how in the premiere Starlight told the 6 students the Everfree isn't a safe place to have a camp out? Yeah, seems Starlight either outright forgot that, was saying it just to stoo the kids from going there too or the writers just forgot that this whole episode contradicts that one line they chose to add back in the premiere and honestly thought no one would notice 😒

Starlight gets a lot of heat from the fanbase at times, but in this episode I think she had the best line: "I just never really felt the need to...hang out in nature. Home has books! Tea. Fewer bugs...a roof." Which kinda mirrors my own views on the whole roughing-it-in-the-great-outdoors thing. As for Chrysalis, I really enjoyed her in this episode; or rather, I really enjoyed that she got so much screen time. We get to see her hatching a plan and executing it (or trying to), we get a glimpse of how obsessed she is with revenge, and we even get to see how she handles taking crap from her own minions. When a villain character is as popular with fans as a franchise's main heroes are, you know the creative team has got it right. Honestly, I'm as sad about the idea of no more Chrysalis when the series ends as I am about the idea of no more Mane 6.

Something tells me that those times of isolation and projection the Chrysalis had to endure made her tactical genius a little off and she might go Mane-iac levels of Insane if this continues unchecked! 3. I agree of having to unredeemable villains in the background continue the scheme within the show where the heroes are having a winning streak too often with too many redeemable villains. Queen Chrysalis, King Sombra, the Mane-iac, the Storm King ,and Tirek are the five True Villains of My Little Pony; and thankfully so!

I'm not trying to take it as an offense but I do NOT repeat NOT like the mean 6 episode. It's NOT funny, it's cruel and the story does NOT make any seance. It's okay that the mane 6 learned something but NOT like this, The mane 6 don't realized that they are endangered by Queen Chrysalises they can't even tell the difference between. I find this episode is a waste of time. I'm looking forward to seeing Queen Chrysalis in season 9 because I would LOVE to see Chrysalis Reformed and turned to good just in "to change a changeling".
