According to Sketchy the Changeling, the reason Naysay was so testy about the school opening was because he's a racist. Which makes me wonder...why would Tia and Luna hire a racist as head of the school board? Being a racist does nothing beneficial for society

We don't really know how the EEA is organised. It could be that the head of the EEA is voted for by its members. Celestia running a school that answers to an organisation she's directly responsible for picking the head of wouldn't exactly be an ideal situation, so I can see her giving it some level of independence.

I'd argue that the accreditation vs. No accreditation thing is a valid, but bendable concern. For the simple fact, that it's not like they're giving out Associates, Masters, or Bachelor Degrees in friendship. When the students graduate, the aren't going to be hired by a company for friendship skills, or at least not like how we associate in the human world. It's the Princess of Friendship and those she trusts, teaching others how to be better friends with their societies and with each others' societies. And while acreditation makes the school more legit in this scenario, that's not an option.

The school where filly Starlight originally learned all her "f*ck the rules" Starlighty-ness education was also E.E.A unaccredited thus allowing her to momentarily take over the world (Pinky and the Brain-style) until she was reformed by Twilight and ultimately accepted a position of becoming a guidance counselor.

The movie characters should have silent cemeos in my opinion. At very least Queen Novo and Skystar. The others could have pictures maybe. And some character should have been given an unfamous or more willing to do tv animation voice actor.

Argamis (SilverComet) the problem is that when overdone, sooner or later this will used as an excuse to not have the characters in question to have an actual on-screen role. Read out letters are simply just a temporary placeholder, not an actual substitute for the character altogether.

Twilight maybe should have rather modified the castle as school. She does not need that much room. I like the school idea and how it has been used but Friendship lessons kind of raise the same questions with me. And there should have been real danger with the pudwudgies, it was a bit..kiddie danger.

I'm pretty sure accreditation is just for prestige, like you can say certain colleges and universities are accredited by specific professional associations, on top of carrying standardized curricula that are recognized by the government. For example, Seneca College has a library technician program that's accredited by the Ontario Library Association, but not directly the ALA (American), and it has minimum course credit requirements for graduation. The OLA could withhold accreditation if it wanted to, but the school would still operate under the provincial government's guidelines -- in much the same way, the School of Friendship can continue to operate under the Principality of Equestria's mandate, directly from Twilight or Celestia. Or both. Chancellor Neighsay really has no way to pull the plug or close the school. Which makes me think that Celestia keeps him with the EEA so he can't create more trouble than he does. A better example of the curriculum thing is a private Jewish school, though, which,on top of all the normal government (say 'Ontario' again) required courses, adds all sorts of Judaic Studies stuff (Hebrew, Tanakh, Jewish History, Jewish Philosophy, all that good stuff, and since this is a Canadian example, French is also a requirement up to a certain grade). The Jewish stuff is additional course material for the students, since the Ontario curriculum is already a requirement to graduate. A Jewish studies school could omit general studies, but then it'd just be a Hebrew school that's attended in the evening, and not be able to offer the rest of what a person needs to know entering university or college.

While this has potential, it also has problems. The Mane Six already have jobs. They aren't experienced, or even qualified, as teachers (with the exception of Twilight and maybe Starlight). This also felt pretty rushed. It really would have worked better if this whole season, or at least half-season, was about them building and setting up this school. And finally, how was Neighsay not punished for causing five separate diplomatic incidents simultaneously?

I think the school is supposedly like Danganronpa’s Hopes Peak Academy school. They get to experience on their own, but when tests come around, they’re tested on what they’ve learnt. It’s probably like small little lectures and tips about friends, not actual things like “Lesson 4 Article 17”

A new KP's review! Yay! Starlight doesn't follow the rules. She rocks!! The first time I saw Neighsay I immediately though ''He is evil''. I mean the tone of his voice, he is got the angry eyebrows and he's voiced by Maurice Lamarche. Of course he's a bad guy! Ocellus is my favorite of the Students Six. Sandbar is the second. He can be considered as "the Joe" of the team but I think he is the middle ground. The guy who needs to keep the cast in balance.

Accreditation simply means that the State recognizes the institution and any degree that comes from it. If a school is unaccredited any certifications from that school have only as much value as the individual to whom those credentials are presented as proof that the candidate that achieved them places in them. While an accredited school's certifications are backed by the State and effectively required to be accepted. On the other hoof.... If the nigh immortal quasi-deity sovereign of the realm for over a millennia who is practically worshiped by the populous puts her faith in an institution I doubt the official standing of said institution matters much.

And yes, I think it is kind of a moot point for pulling the accreditation of the school when not just the ruler of one kingdom but several personally support the school. Kind of hard to argue against that kind of endorsement.

J Lan Think back to Mz. Harshwhinny and her comments about empires and dukedoms and whatnot in the buildup to the Equestria Games. How about the friendship summit in "Princess Spike"? Before the movie the map was only Equestria, yet had a griffon kingdom within the borders. Given that the country was founded by previously hostile tribes a confederation with strong noninterference principles would make sense and explain why Gilda went to the same camp as Dash, but Griffonstone was in such disarray: without a formal request for aid no official help could be rendered.

Am I the only one bothered by the fact that what Starlight said to Twilight after the school was closed down was essentially the same thing that Rainbow Dash said to the pirates during Time To Be Awesome in the movie? I mean, both had essentially the same two messages: “You gave up too easily,” and “Screw other people’s rules, do things your own way.” It’s so similar that they even had Starlight hit the EEA rulebook into the water like how Rainbow Dash tossed the Storm King’s rulebook off the ship in the movie. It bothers me because it’s another case of the writers dumbing down the main characters in order to give Starlight an important role. They easily could have had Rainbow Dash be the one to say that to Twilight, but instead, all they had her do was open the curtains and tell Twilight she can’t stay “in the boring dark all day.” I’m pretty sure that after seven seasons, the rest of the Mane Six would all have been more effective at helping Twilight in that situation, but the writers decided to make them incompetent morons so that Starlight could save the day again.
