I know that London is as expensive as Manhattan, and for that price this is a real bargain! The rooms are large and the kitchen and bathroom look newly renovated. I'm impressed that you have a washer/dryer! If you aren't too far from a Tube station it's just about perfect. I might miss not having a view out the windows, but that's minor. I think you're off to a good start in London!

He still has to pay council tax each month and energy bills. Hes in a neglected part of West London in the old Hoover building. Theres very limited bus and tube links, the nearest tube station is Perivale and it only runs the central line. If that breaks down or goes on strike then you have to use one of the 2 available bus routes to get to a neighbouring town to get to better transport links. Also this apartment is opposite a very loud motorway, thats probably why the windows dont open. I dont think its such a bargain.

Well, 20 mins west would get you to roughly Acton and east roughly Layton. I have lived fairly close to both and it's 'affordable' compared to most places in Zone 2/3.

Well chosen, Ben. All the right amenities and a fascinating nontraditional arrangement of rooms. You do want a really comfy sofa, though. Relaxation and napping somehow are better on a generous sofa than on the bed where you sleep at night. Given a choice somehow I'd take the sofa and cozy throw over the formal bedroom for a really refreshing sleep.

This is Zone 4 in London, Hoover Building Perivale that’s why it’s £1250 (plus council tax? another £100+ easily and bills) But it’s literally quite far out, nothing around you apart from a big Tesco, it’s on a motorway, closest underground is a 10min walk, if it goes down your fucked, in total around 35mins door to door to get to Oxford Circus station. Nice apartment and tour 😄 but honestly better to live with 2 others in zone 2 and be in London for less than that plus bills and council tax split between more people I think.

I love your flat. I have my own house now in a small rural town with views of rolling hills and live alone. I'm about an hour from 3 different cities by car in N.Ireland worse case. That isn't too bad for London at all. I don't know area you live in but I remember a mate of mine over 10 years ago was living in Walthamstow in basically just a 1 bedroom shared kitchen/bathroom accommodation and it cost him a grand a month just for that and it wasn't even a particularly nice place. I think he just moved there cause it was closer to work and he wanted the lifestyle.
