Would you ever consider doing a video about the different areas of London? I'm in my final year of uni and want to move to London after I graduate but don't really know the sorts of areas I would be more suited to live in and I feel like there is only so much that internet research can tell you! (if that makes sense lol)
@lucymoon3 жыл бұрын
My advice would be to move close by to one or two friends if you can! Most new grads seem to live in Clapham, Hackney,, Balham/Tooting/Wandsworth etc, Manor House or Peckham/Camberwell. But basically move close to where the other people you like are and you'll love the area!

Great video! You mentioned some soundproofing issues and just wondering how much of an issue that is? Would you go for a converted house again as opposed to a purpose built flat with soundproofing ? X
@lucymoon3 жыл бұрын
For me personally, I love a house with character so I’m probably always going to live in an older building. The lack of soundproofing is particularly bad here, it’s often not as bad as this is other converted Victorian properties!

Loved the tour! I'm moving into my first proper own flat soon. I have bits and pieces from when I used to study (where I'm from flats are generally unfurnished) but I'm finding it tough to find my own style and know what I want my place to look like. I wonder whether anybody has tips? How do you find your style? How do you know what you want your place to look like? What, in your opinion, makes the room feel homey?

This place is gorgeous!! Random question, is a partially-furnished flat a normal thing in London/the UK? As an American who's lived in several cities in the U.S. I've never seen this before, most places are totally unfurnished or occasionally fully furnished (i.e. student housing), so I just thought that was interesting. ALSO, Lucy, the jeans you are wearing in this video look amazing!
@lucymoon3 жыл бұрын
Honestly you never really know what you’re going to get with rented homes in the U.K. Because we have a housing shortage in the U.K., the supply and demand imbalance means that landlords can let properties get really run down, and have no idea what state they’re in sometimes. I reckon we’ve got about four different tenants’ furniture in here, along with an ancient microwave in the storage cupboard! Doubt our landlord even knows about it lol

What has been your process for finding people to live with? Have you generally opted to moving in with friends you've already known or have you sourced accommodation through websites like SpareRoom and met people that way? I'm a bit anxious about how to find people to live with.

Hey! I decided not to share that figure as during the pandemic prices in London have fluctuated a lot and I don’t want to misconstrue the cost of renting when everything is changing so much at the moment - along with knowing I’m not the only one living here so it’s not my information to divulge.
