Step inside my vintage-inspired NYC studio apartment! This is an up-close look at my 250 square foot studio apt that I pay $1500 a month for. By NYC standards my studio is pretty big and a good deal. What do u think? • • • ⇩ • • • OPEN FOR MORE • • • ⇩ • • •

This video has been in the making for a while now but it's finally finished! I hope you all enjoy this tour of my tiny but cute studio apartment. I always love watching YT videos of people's apartments in big cities where they show you what you can get for your money. But I feel like some of them aren't totally honest. So I'm showing what you can HONESTLY get for $1500 a month living in NYC. Do you think I'm paying too much, or am I getting a good deal?? I'd love to know what you think of my decor and studio size in NYC.

Neutrals are very popular. Lots of shades of white and grey. I personally love this style because I have a small space and love light bright and airy. My living area is neutrals but my bedrooms are colourful. Love colours.

Very popular over here in my corner of Europe. In mid 2000s it was popular to make everything light brown. Now it's all white, super minimalistic and sterile. I need an accent color and darker tones. That's why I rented a pretty looking, well balanced and nicely designed apartment. It's a rarity.

I know you realize how lucky you are to have this apartment. Not only is it a large "studio", but to have the defined kitchen and the dressing room to make it seem like you are moving into actual different rooms. To get a sofa and a full size bed and still have room to walk around is pretty amazing. I love the vintage feel of the bathroom - the old tub and the curved surround of the shower is great - even with the "updated" tile. Wish they had stayed with something vintage, there, as well. $1500 seems like a lot until you see other options in other areas - and you are close to work and transportation! Really nice.

Nice place. NYC has cheaper rentals now, in Manhattan, for $1k and $1.3k. Many people have moved back to suburbs and out-of-state and they need people to rent those spots. I could not believe seeing a decent size studio in Manhattan for $1,300. No bathtub though, but everything looked new.

It's fairly roomy for a studio, and you've made good use of each space. An apartment like this in Manhattan, if you could find one, would be $1,000 more. Lol I was just about to point out the “koreatown” thing when I read her description. Sunset park is considered Brooklyn’s Chinatown especially if you are near 8th ave. The whole strip is Chinese. Actually when you said koreatown I was really surprised because that part of Brooklyn doesn’t have many Koreans or even restaurants. I’d give your nyc native friends the benefit of the doubt and say they’re probably not from Brooklyn and/or aren’t Asian

You call it an apartment complex, back when I lived in Brooklyn it was called a three-family home. I lived in a two-family home for 18 years; we had the top floor. It was a cold flat (meaning no central heating). We heated our place by using the stove that had an attached heating unit. Our rent was only $60/month. The landlord raised it to $85 after he installed central heating that was mandated by NYC. I loved that place.

This apt is gorgeous! And I think you're getting a lot of bang for your buck. Wonderful design & an at-home feel that is in no way cluttered. I love the attitude of getting rid of something when getting something new, cuz "I've enjoyed this, maybe someone else will enjoy it too." Common generosity amongst millennials that I think gets overlooked by the generation with the philosophy of "he who dies with the most toys, wins!" P.S.-- your kitchen is a perfectly good size for cooking 😁

This place is so cute! I always pictured New York studios being tiny little living room sized apartments without anything sectioned off like the way your kitchen is. In Texas, I paid $525 a month for a studio with a huge walk in closet, bathroom and kitchen sectioned off. It wasn’t the nicest place but now I’m in a 2 bed, 2 bath with washer and dryer included for $860 a month. Crazy the world of differences that region brings

I miss living in Brooklyn! I practically furnished my whole apartment with stuff I found that was being thrown away! I was lucky to have a separate kitchen in my studio too. Your apartment is beautiful! I too, am grossed out by carpet. You never know when and IF it has been cleaned recently. I love radiators as well. In my last Brooklyn apartment, I painted my radiator pink.

This is by far the best apartment tour I've ever seen on YT! First, I LOVE it that you didn't feel compelled to mention every single item in your space (some people even tell you where they bought each bottle of nail polish for pity's sake!), but you did label where you got some key pieces. Brilliant! I also LOVE your attention to detail! When I saw the branches holding your flower collection, and the little knobs you hung them up with on the wall, it solved a problem that's been bugging me in my bedroom. Thank you for a really great video!

I love how you decorated your apartment. Even though it's been two years since you uploaded this video, rents in the suburbs were pretty comparable or higher. If you want to live in the Big Apple, you have to sacrifice space. If you want to live in the suburbs, you're going to pay about as much or more plus you will probably need a car. You made the most of your place and you did a fabulous job. I live in a house and I go to the dump's Take it or Leave It shop for plastic storage units for the basement and garage and to Goodwill for bargains.

I adore your style, you inspire me to incorporate more antique items to my decor. I'm currently in the process of moving (alone for the first time!) and my new place feels a little soulless with everything being brand new, and I want it to feel like a home, like yours does :)

aww this makes me so happy! i remember moving into my own place for the first time, it can def feel a little overwhelming trying to decorate the whole place. Just take it one room, even one wall at a time. No need to get it done all at once. Especially when you incorporate more vintage items, those can take a little longer to find but are def worth it once you do.

We have the same taste. I could live in that apartment for the rest of my life. The bathroom is gorgeous. I prefer a galley kitchen. It's in a small building which is in between living in a big complex and having to live with people in a single familyhome. I always got apartments on the top floor. Vintage is my thing. I seriously want that apartment in any state at all; I don't even care.

There is nothing nicer than collecting objects and furniture that has had another life! I have collected this way since I was young in the eighties. Vintage to me is anything from the 60s back ( back then they called it ‘second hand’ and was frowned upon). I find it strange that my daughter is wearing my clothes from the eighties and calls them vintage. It seems like yesterday to me😂😂 and little does she know is a lot of those clothes are older than that and I’m so glad she wants them. You have a beautiful home. I wish you health and happiness to enjoy it. I like nothing better than championing the young to be independent in living and mind. ❤️ Thank you for sharing because this pandemic has isolated a lot of us and it’s a way to visit others homes if only through the lens. ❤️

this so sweet! Im the same, I love collecting items that have belonged to someone else and well honestly, have already had a life before I found them! Its so fun going into a shop and not knowing what you'll find. Sometimes its a gem but not always. Cute your daughter enjoys your old clothes. Could be worse and she could hate them right?! So glad you enjoyed my video (:

I love your apartment and I am with you. Yes it is pricy but to be near work it is worth it. I love radiator heat it is a cleaner heat less allergies and a d I'd you put a pot of water on it, it's great to add moisture to the room during winter cold months. My apartment that I had for 20 years until last October I lived on the 5th floor. Built in the early 60s. Had 2 walk in closets was known as the largest one bedroom unit in the entire Northern Va area. I faced the fountain which was soothing to dit out on the balcony and read and hear the water. My bedroom was also my craft area and a corner of the living room was my office. When I left there I paid $1467 a month which includes $50 for underground parking. I walked to work and I walked to the grocery store, cleaners, restaurants. My complex was gated too so you had to have a code to enter. When I moved I gave tons to Habitat for Humanity. I gave up one antique because no one could fit it into their car and I was sentimental about it but had to let ot go. I love your place it has great character. My nephew graduated in June from Steve's Institite of Tech and he is working in Manhattan and he just moved into an apartment close to his work. He too rides his bike. I think you are very cool and I clicked to subscribe. Have a great week and Merry Christmas.
