Buy a Kayak sea anchor ( Parachute anchor) to stop your drift in large bodies of water.

Hi RB, I just ordered this boat and told Brandon at Flycraft your review influenced me greatly! I’m looking at accessories like a trolling rod holder...do you know the diameter of tubing by chance? Doesn’t say on the specs. Looking forward to more of your videos 👍🏼

Thanks for the review. Beyond the obvious portability advantage, how would you compare this option to a traditional drift boat? I recently bought a home in Montana and am looking to fish several rivers within an hour’s drive.

Great question! There is pros and cons for everything for me as a full time Rv the Flycraft works well for me. A drift you can get more people in it but you are limited to where you can launch and take out. I think what ever you choose you have to be ok with the cons of both!

Wonderful review! Curious as to the power of your motor. Do you ever feel underpowered and how long does the battery typically last? I'm looking to get a raft and fish local rivers for smallmouth. Would consider the motor if it will be enough to motor back upstream, removing the need for a spotter. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

55 pounds thrust which = 084 horse power it moves the boat pretty good depending on the river flow.I have a Battle Born Lithium battery last a very long time and half the weight!

@@boslaugh we have 100ah does fantastic I can get almost 8 to 10hours of trolling with the 55 pound it depends on wind and speed! Some times more! Plus half the weight

Do you believe adding an anchor system to the bow of the boat would help with the blowing around? I spoke with Scotty Mounts and they have an anchor lock system that can be glued on rafts. Anchoring the front and back at the same time might keep the boat in place much better. Thoughts?

My Flycraft is over five years old and they recommended a short shaft back then, but I’ve been hearing that the long shaft is better for the newer ones!

@@jamesmccreery250 I had a custom maravia made that is short and wide and only weighs 79 lbs. Then had a recrerec frame made. It's the ultimate little fishing boat but can also be loaded for multiday trips. Class 5 rapids too. The actual ultimate versatile raft. The wider the boat, the better it will do in low water. Flycraft is basically a Chinese made bucket boat from the 80s. If you want to save some dough just get a tributary and it will blow away a flycraft. Good luck

@@adeebihabibi I did some Internet research, I agree, there are custom Maravia choices I did not know about. As a California resident, none of these boats help me as legalities hinder they’er use. If I lived out of state, I’d be seriously interested. I am a fat guy too. 66 yrs old and unsteady.
