You have hit the nail right on the head all you have said is true You need deep pockets to run a disco. Land Rover have been making mechanics out of drivers since 1948 .......and continue doing it today.. If they were as reliable as a Land Cruiser they really would be a world beater but they don't even come close.

Thank you Charlie for your comments - as a Land Rover enthusiast (then & now!), this was painful to create & admit but it is what it is! Feel free to join in on our blog at Kilin4x4 on Facebook also.

Bullseye, can completely relate. As painful as it can be, I have left landies behind and embraced Japanese models

Thanks for the comment Silvan - I'm not sure I could actually abandon LR altogether.

@@k44_4wd Don't make the mistake and purchase a Range Rover or Discovery no matter if you think its a bargain. I promise you it would be a mistake you live to regret. Any trip you take you WILL have in the back of your mind , will it break down and how much will it cost to put right

Which Lr4 you were referring? 2.7 or 3.0 As what i know is that the 2.7 is the defect one.

LR3 had its share of defects; then got those addressed in the LR4 which unfortunately then got a different reputation, that of snapping crankshafts - they are beautiful to drive but when things go wrong they are then complicated & costly to fix.
