My Love Letter To Battlefield Bad Company 2 - A Sort Of Review

Staying with the Battlefield Franchise, I'm going back to the game where it all started for me! In the upcoming months I'm planning on making all sorts of Battlefield related videos in anticipation of the Battlefield 2042 Release on November 19th! I hope you enjoy! :)

BC2 was my first Battlefield, on 360 I played it for over 1900 hours, not counting the PS3 ones. I have friends who still play it with the new X. I played it for several hours alone, then with foreign friends I met in game (without microphone), then I joined a clan of people from my country (about 40/50 members at its peak), I still play with some, with others I have stayed in touch. We played in public every day and when we could in private clan wars, 2, 3 or even 4 a day. We also played some tournaments, rush and squad rush. After BC2 I played BF3, BF4, (BFH), BF1 and BFV. In my opinion every new BF has moved further and further away from BC1 and BC2, unfortunately, despite all its limitations, BC2 remains the chapter I enjoyed the most, in no other BF I have ever experienced so much fun as a clan war on BC2 with two balanced teams. Or play in rush with a handful of friends. There was no boring map in the rush rotation, which I can't say for the other BFs. BC2 was an astral alignment.

Couldn't have said it better myself! You sound like you have just as much good memories of this game as I do, and I think you're right that the games have been gettig further away from the Battlefield I know from BC2. Eventhough I personally love bf4 as well, I'm kind of sceptical about this franchise's future...

@@MatthysFAIL The move of repurposing old maps is smart, I think they have saved a lot of time instead of starting from scratch, and at the same time they play on the element of nostalgia. The open alpha was more buggy than usual but it looked fun, we'll see with the paid beta how long it takes to fix it. From the rumors Portal sounds promising, if it offers a good level of customization, maybe someone can recreate something similar to the BC2 experience. This is the first BF that I have not pre-ordered, if there should be a good number of friends playing with it ... and they should last more than two weeks, maybe I'll give it a thought.

Bought it 2 months ago, play almost every day, 3-5 servers alive with decent player count and feels as good as back then!
