This is probably one of the most delicate, sensitive and powerful duets I've ever heard. The harmony is perfection between Amanda and Meryl. I read that Meryl flew in and they did the scene on one take. What a master!

I watched this at the cinema. Everyone thought Meryl was not gonna be in it. And I can still hear the audible gasp/loud breath of everyone in that theater when she appeared on screen. That's the kind of power Meryl F*cking Streep holds. That's the kind of masterpiece this scene and these movies are. This is the kind of feeling ABBA provoke to people's hearts still.

I just noticed that at the beginning of Meryl’s cameo that Cher is the last person to look at Amanda Seyfried, it almost looks like she’s looking at Meryl! It feels to me like Cher knew Meryl’s spirit was there because of her role as Meryl’s own mother. ❤

My ma had passed away a few months before this came out. My sis sister in law her daughter and my cousin went to see this in theaters expecting a happy go lucky musical. We made it through the whole movie fine. The this pops on and sis and I are crying our eyes out falling to pieces. They other girls are crying too but not so bad, just looking at us with pity. Then they have the gall to end with super trouper, which is my fav abba song. So I'm sitting there sobbing out super trouper singing along while crying. It was an amazing movie I watch this scene remembering the fun we had and then obviously the unexpected gut punch. I wasn't sorry I went though. It just makes me think of mamma

I lost my step-grandfather in late 2019 and he was then living in Florida with my aunt taking care of him and the 3 thing’s that I think about are how I didn’t get to say goodbye, how proud he was of me when he saw how I completed a puzzle from the inside out at a young age (he was living in Maryland before he moved), and how he died in his sleep and every time this I watch Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again this scene reminds me of him and how he is in a much better place now considering if he was still alive now he would’ve died of Covid considering how stubborn and old he was.

Abba lyrics: I've seen it on your face Tells me more than any worn-out old phrase So now we'll go separate ways Never again we two Never again, nothing I can do Like an image passing by, my love, my life In the mirror of your eyes, my love, my life I can see it all so clearly (See it all so clearly) Answer me sincerely (Answer me sincerely) Was it a dream, a lie? Like reflections of your mind, my love, my life Are the words you try to find, my love, my life But I know I don't possess you So go away, God bless you You are still my love and my life Still my one and only I've watched you look away Tell me is it really so hard to say? Oh, this has been my longest day Sitting here close to you Knowing that maybe tonight we're through Like an image passing by, my love, my life In the mirror of your eyes, my love, my life I can see it all so clearly (See it all so clearly) Answer me sincerely (Answer me sincerely) Was it a dream, a lie? Like reflections of your mind, my love, my life Are the words you try to find, my love, my life But I know I don't possess you So go away, God bless you You are still my love and my life Yes I know I don't possess you So go away, God bless you You are still my love and my life Still my one and only Mamma Mia! Lyrics:…..I've never felt this strong I am invincible, how could this go wrong?
