My LS3 Swapped Camaro Makes BIG POWER On The Dyno! ABSOLUTE RIPPER!

Finally got a chance to get my 1969 camaro on the dyno and get the tune dialed in. She put down insane power for just a little bolt on/cam LS3 and more importantly, she RIPS on the street. Also tuned up my steering system with a new box and pitman arm and now she handles just as well! Having a blast finally beating on this thing!
Wanna send me something?

That nut on top of the steering box sets the worm gear spacing much like setting the ring and pinion in a rear end. It may fell like some of the slop is out, but you’re not solving your issue. Can’t wait to get the LS swap done in my 98 K2500.

Cool to see this tuner really slamming a load on the motor and messing with the tune before pulls. Can't say how many times I've had my GTO and Cobra on dynos and after a warm up it was 6-10 pulls and called 'good', go for a quick drive around the block with the tuner and hear them say "feels good!" and 3 days later I'm home saying dammit this thing drives like shit 😅. This was 15 years ago, when it wasn't unusual to pay only 300-400 bucks for a tuning session.

Just finishing up my T56 Ls swap into a 1969 Firebird! Took it for its first drive to the exhaust shop on Monday. It’s killing me waiting to get it back so I can take it out! Awesome video and super helpful since I think I’m gonna have to do the same steering box swap. I’ve also got brand new steering components except for the box and pitman arm. Same issue, lots of play in the wheel but my car doesn’t return back to center either. Hopefully a steering box solves it

Heard the comment about the Cobra having the oil problem repeat. It could be that the Mustang needs an oil catch can. On the 2003 super charger, it may be like the 2001 Cobra naturally aspirated 4.6L. That one tends to need an oil catch can just after the driver's side PCV valve. There should be more details regarding which side for the 2003 on the svtperformance forum. From what I can find, the UPR oil catch can is excellent. It mounts to the rear engine coolant overflow / degas tank support rod. The existing flange nut and threads are more than enough to hold the catch can bracket.

35:38 the dual walled tips look awesome but keeping them shinny is a PITA! I’ve found the best product to use is p&s break buster that I keep in a 2:1 ration in a spray bottle. When I get back in the garage I do a quick spray of the dual walled tips with the Break Buster and wipe them clean with a microfiber and it pulls all the soot off of the tips! Makes maintaining them shiny for each drive a breeze! I also have p21s polishing soap for the tips if I have neglected them for a bit to use during a wash. But I’ve learned a quick spray and wipe after each drive keeps them perfect 🤙🏼. Love to see that you always throw some highway footage of Worcester in the videos! Born and raised in Worcester! Keep the videos coming - this is the best content on the KZbins!

Love your SIXT9 Camaro and the huge smile you get from driving it! That exhaust is unbelievable. Concur with a mini-split! I have one in my garage here in AZ where it cools the garage down to a nice and dry 78 in the middle of summer when the temp is 110 outside! Dyno Dynamics which is the true "heartbreak" dyno...I know as I had my tuned '06 Mercedes SLK55 AMG dyno'd on one where it is a full 15% less vs the DynoJet.

3 degrees negative front camber will help with steering wheel return, and going straight when launching. Grab steering shaft underhood and check for play in new rag joint and shafts slip joint. You can bottom out and backoff a half turn steering setscrew. Wont feel much though. Grab each front wheel and move side to side, and in and out to see what balljoints are doing.

Worked for Cardone for 17 years as a Sales Rep. My Dad and Mr. Cardone (founder) were best friends before he died. Our training was working on each line with factory workers and I have to say the Steering Department was the worst. Calipers, water pumps, Brake Boosters, easy. The paint marks are the workers signature. If something fails that paint marker determines the person responsible. It was some good times though.

It's actually the reverse. The Mustang Dyno is the "unforgiving" one. Regardless, this car RIPS! 500RWHP, naturally aspirated is AWESOME! People like to brag about their 1000-1200rwhp cars today but they can't get them to plant the tires on the street! Or they want to start from a roll so they don't lose traction. Old school drag racing meant you figure it out yourself, you didn't have traction control, awd or some computer figuring everything out for you! It took skill! 👍👍👍

Chris that motor at the crank is definitely north of 600 if my estimations are correct it is making roughly 630 to 650 hp and boy does it sound like it. My lord what an incredible car you built man... You have both my dream cars. Hey if i may can i suggest your next build/swap? I would love to see you get a notch back fox and swap a Coyote with a whipple on it and a complete maximum motorsports suspension. @midnight347 lmao bro you don't know what your talking about. If you did you'd do the math and it checks out. He has good flowing heads and a big cam there's numerous ls3 making 600 to 650 at the crank. Typical valve train loss is typically 15%-20% on manuals and 20% -30% on automatics. He has a manual and I calculated a 25% loss which would account for the overage on the dyno if it was over at all because he stated in the video despite what brand it was that it was stingy so my estimations are on point.
