You inspired me to do the buffing technique. I’ve been using the Hourglass Ambient lighting trio to buff and it has literally changed my entire makeup look. I LOVE it. And, I too can skip other steps but NOT the buffing:)

My mom said the same thing! LOL...she wants to find something else that doesn’t cost as much but then she never likes it as much as the La Mer. I haven’t showed her the powder because I know she would love it too..then I would feel bad

I love the pressed powder it is my go to and always in my makeup bag. I use it for touchups. I'm oily and have pores so it gets rid of the shine and smoothes the pores without making me look cakey. I use the la mer foundation brush and it is a perfect combo. I saw sonia gasparian use it that way and it works.

Mel, I had the same lip skin tugging habit for nearly 30 years. I stopped when I got acrylic nails so now it’s impossible, and I enjoy the pretty nails benefit. I know that’s not very practical for everyone but for me, this was the only thing that worked.

Oh! I am totally with you on the lip picking being such a bad habit. For me, it’s like nail biting for some ppl. Sometimes it is unconscious, and worst when I am stressed or nervous. Crusty and/or bleeding 👄 not a good look. Unfortunately lipsticks and glosses make my lips even worse

I love your style Mel- you always do a great job and look gorgeous. And unique! You put together the best color combos and inspire me to venture out of my comfort zone. And that’s my worst makeup habit- getting in a rut and doing the same kind of look frequently. And my invisible blonde brows are what takes me the longest- and it’s the step I can never skip. I really want to micro blade them but I’m scared. Not of the pain- scared of getting a bad result.

I’d love to know what your routine is when you’ve got an early morning meeting or flight. Does Puffin nag you to hurry up when you’re getting ready to go out? Or do you just allow yourself the time you need to always be ready on time? Clearly this is an issue for me. I love putting on makeup so much, it’s so relaxing and I just get lost in my own world and time just seems to disappear 😝

I think I can't live without some kind of spf tinted moisturizer...I feel like i'm putting armor on my skin before I leave the house. If I'm late I can't leave without it, IT HAS to be on my face (currently I love the origins SPF40 tinted moisturizer in the orange tube) and usually I throw a little mascara on and some lipgloss, good to go! You have the prettiest eyes, with or without makeup!

Literally pulling on my lips as I watch this! And while I love how mascara looks when I'm finished, applying it is my least favorite thing to do. My favorite is lips. I love choosing the color, applying it, and I feel like it just pulls everything together in a pretty package. I also have a lot of ink so I totally agree that I don't feel good going out without pulling myself together with a face. I do have hair but its so unruly I always have it on the top of my head. I actually really want to cut it all off but I am not brave enough YET. Great video and so much fun! Thank You

My answers would be pretty much the exact same except for me I HAVE to do something to my eyes. I'm a natural redhead and my eyelashes while very long and full (I actually have 2 rows of lashes) are very light. Without makeup, I look sick. I love doing my foundation. I love seeing the transformation from flawed to flawless. I often look at my lips as an after thought too. I don't know why but by the time I'm at the end of the routine, I'm over it. I brush my teeth after doing my makeup and rush out the door, normally late, so lipstick is kinda thrown on in the car... whatever happens to be in my makeup bag... currently Marc Jacobs slow burn. Lol

I actually hated applying mascara. I have long but very fine lashes... so giving me any oomph would take at least 5-6 coats.... and then I’d freak out about the clumping that would always result, no matter what I did or what mascara I’d use... so I’d comb through them and probably remove half of the work I’d just done. Now, that issue is fixed by (very natural looking!) lash extensions and no more need for mascara. - I don’t feel “complete “ unless I’ve at least applied a light layer of powder foundation (to cover some the rosacea flushing I may have) and filling in my brows with the Brow Wiz. (I blend Taupe and Med.Brown, at the front and Med.Brown on the rest.) - Bad habits? I’ve worked on stopping to mindlessly touching my face. (It can cause me to break out.)

My eyes have uneven lid space too and it drives me crazy. I have to do my eyes differently because of that and it's so annoying because they end up different every day depending on how high I take my lid color up

I completely understand that! It wasn’t until I started filming that I even noticed how uneven they were. But, that also helped me to see what others saw and helped me figure out where I needed to place things. But, it’s such a pain.

I used to do the lip skin pulling thing.then I began to take minimum 2.5 litre water a day, the laniege lip mask thing and applying lip balm as long as I am awake, do not have the skin to pull off. 😭😭 so sad.only lipstick bite beauty honeycomb. filling my eyebrows makes me complete.
