I got dropped by my manager in December 2017... February 2018 I booked a huge national commercial and June 2018 I flew to Berlin, Germany to take a master class with Academy Award winning director Paul Haggis... one door slams shut other ones will open!

@4:24 It sounds cheezy, but this is a moment here, I felt the weight of your words here brotha. Even with the professionalism holding it together. I could see this one hit. Maybe use this feel in your acting. Big ups to you man. I'm sure your fine now.

I wanted to ask: You said you sort of saw it coming. What do you think it was that caused it? What can you do in the future to prevent it? - I'm curious because I'm on a roll and looking for a Manager. It never even crossed my mind that they could drop me. Thank you for all your guidance and I KNOW you found new management probably shortly after posting the video.

@TheWillyDubz Question for you, my friend: When did you start acting/what did you do to pay the bills until you started really getting more consistent jobs? Also - what sort of acting training have you done? Schooling or just workshops? I love all of your content and looking forward to meeting you in the future. Your videos are more helpful than many of the others I’ve come across thus far. Thanks!

Why did your agent drop you though? Don’t mean to pry but would love to hear for advice on things to be ready for if your agent says “the industry is changing so it doesn’t make sense anymore” why and what doesn’t make sense?!!

What is your capital 💰 money to start out your actor career, like moving in to LA and all, stuff
@WillyDubz5 жыл бұрын
Lust Gaming A couple thousand dollars ideally. You need enough for a few months rent + security deposit and food to be safe.

Get a job online you can do anywhere then pay a sublet in LA, don't rent until you're there and feel like it is for you. I was there and went back to CT my agent is in NY

I know this video is 2 years old but you said you kind of saw this coming (about the agent dropping you). I was wondering what those signs were? I’m wondering because this is a big fear I’ve had recently 😔
@WillyDubz3 жыл бұрын
It's a gut feeling that's a combination of a few things: 1. they haven't spoken to you in a couple weeks. 2. You haven't been booking with them for a while (a couple months at least). 3. They stopped giving you their time so readily. etc. Fortunately, this was something that I look back on as a necessary change. It's pretty commonplace to shift around a bit before you find yourself and find representatives that fit YOU. So don't worry too much. I self-submitted like crazy when I didn't have representation and got back on my feet within a couple months.

What do you recommend for a child actor?
@WillyDubz5 жыл бұрын
I recommend following my tips in my How to Move to LA to Become an Actor video. I go over all sorts of stuff you could use. As a child actor I would recommend getting some headshots done and submitting on roles for kids while you look into getting a talent agent for your area. Do plays. Make little skits, movies and KZbin content. Write! Whatever you feel like, and TRY dozens of things. It all helps you to find yourself and work on what you bring to the table as an actor.

The President of the Directors’ Guild recommended to spend time writing down a list from the depth of your heart “the conditions” for your deepest dreams and also what you would like to give to others. You will immediately manifest this. Please be careful not to say or video that “You’re late,” and ensure not to be late, because this will be an enormous negative for those thinking of casting. Also, the film & music industry are huge with philanthropy. Volunteer for their causes. You’ll attract helpers in turn. Best wishes.
@WillyDubz5 жыл бұрын
Therese Ember it was a hard time in my life for sure; even though it is pretty common for agencies and actors to break up. I believe in manifestation for sure. In the weeks and months after this video I got my act together, booked my first feature, and got new representation. I’m gonna do a video on that. Thank you for your comment.

TheWillyDubz: I look forward to it! Enjoy your vlogs! The initial agent for the screenwriter of “Ghost” dropped him the day before he was relocating from Indiana to LA-saying that his script would never sell in Hollywood. So it’s good to take these things with a grain of salt. Manifest your dreams... Hold to your own center and allow fate to manipulate external events.
