My Masters of Research Degree was an emotional rollercoaster full of ups and down, mighty highs and tragic lows, but it was a worthwhile experience and has made me into the strong and determined individual I am today. Through the Christmas holiday, Easter break, weekends and stupidly early mornings of juggling research work with my job. It was all worth it, and the hard work was not in vain. Would not have been able to do it without the wonderful support of my family and friends, and my stupidly amazing, crazy, lovely and immensely hardworking lab colleagues!

This is awesome, so helpful! quick q: what was the sort of timeline after admission until starting work in the lab? like when'd you go to get admin sorted, meet the stream tutor, decide lab/modules etc? thank you :)

I’m so happy you found it helpful 😁 well everything happened very quickly so admin took maybe a week to sort out. Meet with stream tutors on the first day and completed registration on that day in order to obtain the University Card. Then list of projects were sent the next day, booked meetings with several PIs that first week and then started in the lab on late second week believe on the Thursday. Hope this helps ☺️

Thank you so much!! actually it was through a friend, I worked for a hospitality agency called offtowork the hours are really flexible and the pay is great :)

Thank you! You can choose the lab from the start in October. If you haven't decided which lab you would like to join before hand there is a list of advertised projects you can choose from. Hope that answers your question.

Oh that’s a very good question, well the stream tutor is only there the guide and support you. It’s very unlikely you will be in the lab as your stream tutor as most of them are not active in the research field. With respect to the end of the project, I stopped going into the lab in July but my thesis was due in August and viva in September

Hi there I have never been to Campbell House West but East is absolutely amazing it has a nice communal space and TV room which is really nice for hosting friends, the Rooms are reasonable and its very close to UCL which is amazing cause you will have access to a lot of services, but to my understanding West doesn't have a communal space.
