I’m so sorry, the poor little guy. I lost one of my farlowella to something similar in nature. When the other one got the same thing, I treated with the same medication, but I started with the Epsom salts the same day instead waiting a couple days like I did with the first one. She started pooping and lost the bloat within 36 hours or so. It was a week or more before I knew that she was going to make it. The male died within 3 days of beginning treatment. I hope your puffer gets better very soon.

Ehh water changes don't get rid of parasites. Just the ones in the water column and sometimes not even that.

I went through the same thing with my greens spotted puffer. I mixed garlic and general cure in bloodworms and it helped him get back to normal

Hi my Fahaka puffer is behaving in the exact same way with twitching (when he tries to eat) and lethargy. Is there any advice on how to treat him?

Get your hands on some levamisole (Amazon has it) I’d definitely feed less and water change often after treating. Deworming a puffer sometimes several times over the course of 6 months or so might be necessary. You definitely don’t want to medicate back to back, wait about another 2 weeks after the initial med treatment. Good luck.
