The irony of owning a supercar that you can't afford to drive to its full potential. That's why my dream car is not a supercar. Instead of prioritizing performance, I prioritize comfort. My $7000 Citroen C5 has the Hydractive 3 self-levelling hydraulic suspension, superior to anything found in a Mercedes or McLaren, but sorry Hoovie you can't buy one in North America. There is even a plate under the hood in my car which states this funnily enough. Move to Australia, Hoovie. Then you can buy a mid-size 5-seater car like mine that rides AND corners better than any land yacht and gets 50 mpg on the highway.

Yes, german cars do have flaws, so do other brands too. And most of the cars are reliable for 200.000km and more. Scotty Kilmer is also a guy, that refuses to learn new stuff. I mean, new car's are also cars. More cables and stuff, but at the bare they work the same. Have 4 wheels, engine, tranny and so on. Also the ability of the car to tell you "Dang, somethings wrong in there" is a good thing. Because then you are able to look more specific. But: a good meachnic looks also to the other "non related" stuff.

He says in almost every other video that owning a Merc E class outside its warranty is financial suicide unless you're Scrooge McDuck, and that we should all kneel and bow down to our Toyota gods. I took a look at the warranty; v) Track days: any failure incurred or caused as a result of or following a track day - so to me that reads that only if the car fails during the track day then its not covered, but not that the remaining warranty is void. In Singapore, the local McLaren dealer organises an annual track day (to the Sepang circuit) with race instructors from Woking and covers the car for any engine or gearbox damage sustained during this sanctioned track use. Obviously, impact damage isn't covered. But this allows owners to take their cars to an occasional track day with some peace of mind. Other than these sanctioned track days, I wouldn't have any cover if I decided to risk tracking the car on my own even though I've bought the full warranty. So, the restrictive terms still suck, but they seem a little better than what you have to put up with.

It was a common trait during times like the muscle car era where racers would frequently try to hide the fact that they were out at the drag strip to get free parts to replace what they busted last weekend at the strip. If I'm not mistaken, the car's GPS knows when it's in a track and it enables track mode. Also the techs probably can see the story of acceleration and braking in the car's telemetry and would likely deduce if it has visited a track.

The s class actually is actually the perfect choice for really long road trips. Kind of surprising no one talks about it for that. It's quiet, has tons of room inside, the seats have soft and supple leather and are padded perfectly, the messaging is great, and it's so quiet on the inside (double glazed windows and lots of sound insulation) that it won't wear you out. And Tavarish has the S600 so it has the amazingly silky smooth v12 with the magical ABC suspension. I am convinced the S class was actually designed for long road trips. This is where it excels the most. Just like a Ferrari is mind blowing on the track or an mx5 is amazing on a small twisty road, the s class is an amazing long distance highway cruiser
