The ford gt does 7:52 on the Nuremberg, and the 675lt does 7:21. Shows really who the top g of the cars are. Also if you want a actual v6 track car, the gt2 rs is way better in every aspect and it’s 300k cheaper lol. Euro on top.

Tim, I don't think on the track, the Ford GT will be necessary the quicker of the two as you suggested. Here are lap times for comparisons on various tracks that both have done. Granted these were not done on the same day but it'll give you some idea. At Angelsey Coastal the times are 1:14.23 (GT) vs 1:12.80 (LT). At Willow Springs, the times are 1:23.69 (GT) vs 1:24.29 (LT). At the Motortrend Figure-8 course, 0:22.70 (GT) vs 0:22.40 (LT).

The McLaren 675 does 0-60 in 2.9 seconds and has a top speed of 212mph. The Ford GT does 0-60 in 3 seconds and has a top speed of 216mph... these stats are so close that it just tells me that this guy just couldn't drive the Ford GT...

Another great video! I too was a little disappointed the GT did not win but then again it is designed to be a track weapon and not a drag race machine. Shmee, if it does bother you I'll be more than happy to take it off your hands and you will not have to look at it ever again. I don't understand why they ran so many runs & didn't change lanes. Ford struggled for traction in every race. If they switched lanes they could see if it was the strip. To me that looked like a traction difference.

Caught Shmee sleeping 2 out of 3 races, the McLaren will win anyway though, definitely faster in a straight line. Personally even though it would be slower, I actually like the 2005 Ford GT more. The body design of the new one is definitely more amazing, but I kind of like the simplicity of the 2005 version. Big motor, manual gearbox, no traction control, just you, the car, and the road. Not to mention, with the 5.4L V8 there's so much room to get more power out of it, people are cranking out horsepower ratings in the thousands with that car. I would just compound boost it with twin-turbos to get right around 1000hp and leave it at that, lol.

I still think the Ford GT is the best looking car made. It’s crazy that a 3.5 Ecoboost is anywhere near a twin turbo Mclaren V8 as far as performance goes. What an absolutely stunning car.

Drag races between two very similar cars usually depends on the overall gearing, So if one car has 675 lb/ft of torque but has 3.23/1 final drive ration it will likely lose to a similar weight car with 650 lb/ft of torque but 4.10/1 final drive ratio. I don't care much for the new Ford GT compared to the Ford GT Mark IV with the 427 big block and a real manual transmission. Might be slower off the line but I would bet top end would wipe the floor with either of those cars. They're why they put the chicanes in the Mulsanne "straight". Even the original 289 powered Ford GT would do over 205 mph on that straight. There's just something about the sound and fury of a big block V8 at full song that stirs my soul. Both of those cars would probably get wiped by a full on Can Am car of the 70s.

That McLaren has 515 lb ft of torque the Ford GT has 550 lb ft. That’s pretty cool that they can get more torque out of a V6 than they can out of that McLarens V8.

That 675LT is a stunning machine, the GT is a genuinely lovely thing, and Ford can be really proud of what they've made, but I believe that 675LT is genuinely going to go down in history as one of the all time great McLaren cars. We all know that is Dunsfold where the TG studio and track is 8:06 Tim's reaction time was terrible After the second run i'm convinced the GT needs new tyres because Tim was on it. It also seems that LT is making more power than it says it does becasue they weight about the same and there is only 15hp/ps difference between them Also thanks to the title i know the LT wins easily (and no i didn't see the end of the video yet)

The 675LT might be comparable to the GT on paper. But, the 675 is more tech-driven and built primarily to annihilate its competitors on a straight line. The GT is more about the rawness, the visceral experience, the mechanical noises inside the cabin, and less about straight line speeds. The Ford GT is a car that makes you feel special and give you the feel of piloting a bonkers space shuttle. The 675 is about Fun & Speed, whereas the GT is all about the Driving Experience and Specialness. Overall, both of them are very different from one another.

Sorry, but he didn't race this fair for the GT. He used SPORT mode, which is NOT the mode he should have used.. He should have used V-MAX. You get the same ride height as Track mode - ie, 50mm lower than Normal - but all the stability controls are ON, and aero elements are stowed to minimize drag. Because of course, you only want to go in a straight line up to 216 mph.
