Hey everyone! This is my story with depression and anxiety. I've wanted to share my story for a long time now; however, it's taken forever to build up the courage to share this.
My reason for wanting to share this story is to spread awareness around mental health. I was able to go from my deepest point in college to absolutely loving life now. If you're currently struggling, don't be afraid to get help and talk with those around you. No matter how you're feeling now, there's a brighter future ahead.

Appreciate you sharing the challenges that you faced. I was browsing you tube for Akron vids liked yours and then happened here. I graduated from U of A in Civil Engineering many years ago. I know about mental health issues and was shocked at the poor help you received while in crises. We all have issues and as they say baggage that we drag around from childhood. Best part is when you get help and understand what threw you off the track and what is best for you to get back on it. Hope you are enjoying life in Florida. Sure is better than Akron ..Right !!! LOL Anyway I see nothing but a person with great potential who has the honesty to go beyond the noise and enjoy each new day for what it offers.

Good job Nick, not easy to share something like that, but I applaud your efforts to share with others. I have suffered from social anxiety and panic disorder most of my adult life, and I am 64 years old. It is something that will never leave me. I have good days and I have some not so good days. If I could pass onto you a suggestion, or source of information, that really helped me, and may be good for some of your followers. Lucinda Bassett, she is an author of a few books on anxiety and panic, and she also has a tape series, they is very good. Also concerning the medications, Xanax was not good for me, I took it for quite awhile, and actually think it worked against me. I take Klonopin, and like you didn't want to take medication, but it really helps in my situation, and maybe an alternative to the Xanax. Keep going and sharing your videos, one day at a time. Anxiety can be a really bad thing, but there are people out there just like you, and that helped me, just knowing that I was not alone, and others have the same thing. Everyone is going through something, and in our case, anxiety is the culprit. Just take it one day at a time, life is not always easy.
