The shield override stripping wood mechanic was placed in response to people complaining that they couldn't block attacks in trial chambers because since they're primarily made up of waxed copper components, players would de-wax the copper instead of activating their shield :D

Now thats a cute little cottage! Really happy to see this in my subfeed today! I dont use a shield, but I can see how that would be annoying with the axe. The offhand should be second, in my opinion. If you want a lot of copper, dripstone caves are better, I think. The ore veins do contain a lot, but it's speckled with granite. In dripstone caves the ores are in large clumps. You can very quickly get a stupid amount of raw copper, lol. Looking forward to seeing what else you make of this update!

Another lovely episode and I love the nod to PW! Can I make a suggestion? Don't have a goal to end the season like you usually do. Instead, when you start to feel you want to go back to the season 1 or 2 areas, just make your way back on foot. You could have a rule that you can't make a bed unless you build something (big or small depending on your inspiration at the time) to put it in and you can't use coordinates unless you build some kind of navigation marker like a tower, a pole or a beacon or whatever. These 2 rules would force you to connect the S3 area to the others with builds on the way back and also navigating using the sun and moon could be fun when you can't be bothered to build a navigation marker and so can't use coordinates. It might be a daft suggestion, but I hope it's OK to put it out there.

@14:30 IMO, prioritising the activation of an off-hand shield, over the 'secondary' function of a main-hand tool (eg. log stripping with an axe) is logical. If you're carrying a shield, presumably you're in an environment where you might need to raise it, *immediately* ("oh, hello, a creeper!"). If you accidentally raise the shield when you meant to do something else (eg. strip a log), the shield does *not* make any unintended (and sometimes irreversible) changes in your environment, so 'no harm done'. On the flip side, unintentionally stripping a log when you intended to do something else (eg. raise your shield), is often extremely irritating - it interrupts what you were doing, makes unintended changes to your environment which might then need to be repaired, *and* (if you actually needed to raise your shield) it leaves you without that additional protection (which is why you were carrying it, right?). One would assume that by the time you are stripping logs to visually detail a build (in particular), you have already cleared the immediate area of hostile mobs, so a ready-to-deploy shield is no longer necessary. When you're building, there are usually better ways you can use your off-hand anyway (eg. ready-to-place blocks). In this situation, you'll usually see a threat approaching before it is right 'in your face'. Move the shield to a 'low priority' position in your hot bar, where you can still hover over it and swap-key it into your off-hand, and you'll still be 'ready to rumble' with plenty of time to spare.

Its like episode 3 and they have full netherrite gear, destroyed the enderdragon, made 7 redstone ultra farms and are working on their second mega base as a side project. I really like your pace and just how humble everything is. I generally like basic minecraft and I am not really into these mega things.
