Of course you did a timelapse!😉I'd expect nothing less from you! Glad you were able to catch it. I don't think I'll be able to get it until it starts showing up in the evening, but even then....we'll see.

I can't not attempt a timelapse! Near-horizon shots are always difficult. But hopefully we'll both get the opportunity!

Awesome timelapse :) Nothing but clouds for the past week here, so I'm glad I got to see yours!

Thank you!! It's coming back around the sun now so it should be easier to see in a week or so after sunset. We'll have another 3-4 weeks of it, although it'll gradually get dimmer. Clear skies!

Awesome photos and story! I also went on something of an adventure to shoot A3, which may or may not have involved me driving three hours to a dark sky park, realizing the eastern horizon there was fully obstructed so driving around for hours trying to find somewhere else, sleeping in my car until dawn, and then waking up and setting up my rig on the side of the road next to a cornfield (and then driving to get to work in the morning) The feeling of seeing the comet show up in my first sub exp. after all the hard work was amazing. Happy with my results shooting it at 450mm, captured a bit of detail in the tail (but not nearly as much as other photos I've seen). Easily the most difficult target I've attempted due to the closeness to sunrise, but I'll always remember the little adventure

Thank you so much! Your adventure makes you a true astronomer! Congrats on the catch, I know the exact feeling you are talking about! How does the western horizon look in your area? In another week or so, the Comet should be high enough in the sky after sunset for the tail to show more. I'm really looking forward to that. Just need clear skies!

That Timelapse with the boat in foreground was cool! Thanks for the info, I think at 30° in Oct I might be able to get a view.

Thanks, Doug! Good luck to both of us later this month! I'm gonna have to find a place I can drive to for the western horizon. My astronomy club doesn't have that view either.

Living down the Cape I was stuck with clouds in the morning... so for the evening event, I'm heading to TX. I've got family there so that is more or less a plus.

Oh awesome! I'll call that a plus because the air there will be less turbulent making it easier to see/photograph the comet. Good luck and clear skies!

Were you able to see it without using the camera? I wonder if it will be visible at the end of the month?

I couldn't see it without a camera, it was too close to the rising sun 😢 Hopefully later in the month it's naked-eye visible. Really hard to tell what it'll be really like though, we'll have to wait and see. I'll post updates as I learn then.
