You may understand what you are trying to explain but to the learner & uninitiated you are talking utter gibberish. It's generally the same with anyone who " understands" their subject, they expect others to be just as well versed in all the terms, such as filters, focal length etc and THEY ARE NOT. Please try to explain things like the Seestar S50 in more "simple terms so us lesser mortals can understand it a little better. Certain things we may know like USB, power pack & so on but technical info needs further explanation not just a quick mention as you do. We are not all techno or astronomical geniuses please remember that!!

Thanks for the feedback! It's difficult to make videos that speak at every level. I've done videos where I explain the very basics and the feedback is usually that I shouldn't waste time on that. So it's hard to make everyone happy 😊 I may do a very beginner friendly video where I go over everything about telescopes, cameras, etc. If you have specific questions, let me know, I'll add them to the video. Filters and Focal lengths will be on that list.

Pretty cool! I started an astro live stream the other week as well and would love to branch out on different platforms. I use an ASIAir for the main screen so we get a full screen view, and a fast scope for live stacking. But it's a complicated process. Kudos to you for figuring it out as it's not an easy thing to do. It's kind of like spinning a dozen plates all at once lol.

@Naztronomy yep latest version (1.9.1). There are some slight UI differences in the WBPP script. That said I was able to figure out how to navigate the changes. Worked well for me. I’m now trying this method to combine 3574 subs. 973 of which were taken with mosaic mode and the remaining were taken before mosaic mode existed and were manual attempts to cover M31. Interested to see what how that works out.

Great video! I have never done any Astrophotography although I am almost 75. I don’t have tons of money but I wanted to do it right so after watching many KZbin videos I invested in the Askar 71F flat field telescope and the reducer. I also went with a used ASI2600MC air camera, used zwo AM3 mount, new zwo auto focuser. I used this video to guide me on installing the reducer and for getting the proper back focus. THANK YOU!😊. I bought the 2” Antlia Triband RGB Ultra Filter II but haven’t figured out exactly where to place it. I’m thinking next to the camera but not sure? I am still waiting for the scope mount to arrive so I haven’t fired it all up yet. Oh, I also ordered a few heater and 10 amp power supply. So I’m getting there. With the camera, mount and focuser all ZWO and the camera having the brains would simplify the control and cabling. I’m a hunter and used to looking through spotting and rifle scopes even ones of higher end quality like nikon and Zeiss. But in looking through this scope with the included eyepiece I was really impressed! I looked at a small tree more than a hundred yards away and the detail I could see was surprising. It was very bright and clear. I believe it had more detail than any spotting scope I ever used and I have one spotting scope in 70 mm with Fluorite glass! So Kudos to Askars parent company! Again, great video and the only one I could find displaying pictures taken using the Askar .75 Reducer!

Sounds like you have a really nice setup! I'm glad my video was helpful 😊 For the filter, you can screw it into threads of the M48 photographic adapter. In my Askar 71F video, around the 18 minute mark, I show where I thread my filters in: kzbin.info/www/bejne/sH-7cqhqiaeFo6M Your second option is to get a filter drawer which will replace the 21mm spacer for your camera. Nice setup! The 71F has been amazing. And yep, I mentioned the 55mm backfocus just for demo purposes since most setups will require it. As long as you can give it either M42 or M48 threads, you'll be able to attach it to your mirrorless and your telescope. You'll have to calculate back focus though. For the RedCat, since it's a Petzval, I don't think it has a back focus requirement but I'm uncertain about the FF107.

Thank you for this solution. I will be attempting it today with a couple of mosaic nights on the Witch Head nebula. Question: Will the changes to the BPP-engine file affect how WBPP runs on non-mosaic stacking? Can the code change remain?
@Naztronomy
@Naztronomy 22 күн бұрын
The changes make WBPP a bit more sensitive so that it rejects fewer frames. Keeping it on won't affect anything other than the star registration so frames that may normally get rejected will now be registered. I just got one and indeed is a great scope. The only issue I have is regarding the space between the scope and the dovetail mounting plate (the same issue mentioned in several reviews of the 71F). In my case after I mounted an electronic autofocuser (EAF) on the scope the dovetail plate cannot be moved backwards to balance the scope on the mount. The solution of course is to install a pair of raiser blocks but I am having a hard time them in the appropriate size. Do anyone have any suggestion to solve this issue?
@Naztronomy
@Naztronomy 22 күн бұрын
The quickest solution is to turn the Askar 71F upside down inside the rings so that the focuser is on top but the dovetail plate is still on the bottom. It doesn't have to be upside down, you can even turn it 90° and that might do the trick. Just need to get the EAF bracket in a different orientation than the dovetail plate. Option two would be to attach a small counterweight to the front of your dovetail plate. You don't need much, just enough to balance.
@pathdoctor1
@pathdoctor1 21 күн бұрын
@ Thanks! I had thought about turning the EAF up too but I thought of another solution which is to insert 2 or 3 (or more) large (wide) metal washers between the dovetail and the base of the rings, just to get it high enough up to a 3-4 mm clearance. That isn’t a very elegant solution but will do until I get to find a pair of proper riser blocks. Hopefully someone will capitalize on the need of those blocks for the 71F.
@Naztronomy
@Naztronomy 21 күн бұрын
Great idea! Using washers is a nice solution. You should check out ADM, they make a lot of hardware including risers. I'm not sure if they have ones that will fit the 71F but they are usually quick to response from my experience.

@Naztronomy

Thanks! My set up is way worse than that. I do a rough polar alignment then do a planet alignment on Jupiter. I also use FireCapture's autoguiding feature using the bult-in ST4 port on the camera and my mount to send pulse adjustments which works surprisingly well. Since I'm lucky-imaging, a little bit of drift is fine, I wouldn't use my method for any kind of long exposure astro.
