In the three years almost four years that I have been natural I have to thank the KZbin Natural Hair Community for all the tips and tricks because I knew nothing. I did a big chop and when my hair was short it was easier. I used Shea Moisture products and they worked until my hair grew out and something changed. I’m one who will pay attention to what my hair is doing so I will switch things up if necessary. I also try to watch influencers who have hair similar to mine. Can’t be out here trying to do something with my hair that will definitely be a no when we have a totally different hair type. A few months back my hair was pretty dry every time I did it so I started doing protective styles (twists) that I leave in for a week and once I took them out I would wash my hair. I also started back pre-pooing and using cowashes in my monthly routines as well. I recently tried the new Curlsmith bonding treatment. It worked amazingly well. I did my hair six days ago and it is still moisturized. I used an old favorite gel I hadn’t used in a while, the Mane Choice Biotin Infused gel along with the original 3 in 1 leave in and my hair is so soft and moisturized. I was super happy to feel my hair in its normal state. I also trimmed my ends. It’s been a roller coaster ride but all in all one I’ve enjoyed because I LOVE my curly hair. You are one of my favorites and there are only a few people that I actually watch for actual tips. Some I watch just for fun. So thanks for all of your hair wisdom. It is much appreciated. 🤎🤎🤎. I watched your Miche Beauty gel video. I thought one side of your hair looked a little frizzy. I was wrong. It’s gorgeous as usual. My routine is similar in that I do my hair once a week. One week co-wash sometimes two weeks in a row. When I shampoo I use either Miche Beauty, Adwoa Beauty or Melanin Hair Care shampoos. I switch between protein and moisture deep conditioners and I use a steam cap. I started using clay washes as well but only once a month. I became a product junky but in the last year realized it’s best that I stick to what I know works. I will be using up my stash. I have several favorites so if any of the formulas change I will still have some options but gone are the days of trying everything. It’s a wrap. I think I’ve figured it out. My hair thanks me. 🤣

I clarify monthly and will follow up with a rinse out conditioner just so I can finger detangle and add some moisture back before my deep conditioner. It's the only time I use a rinse out. I use a protein/moisture balance deep conditioner every 4-6 weeks and do a deep protein every 3-4 months. I gave myself protein overload once, never again! 🤣

Week 1 -shampoo and condition, week 2 shampoo and deep moisture, week 3 shampoo and condition, week 4 shampoo and deep protein conditioner. I don't use heat often or straighten my hair, so deep conditioning every other week seems plenty. No heavy proteins used. Favorite protein conditioners are Oyin honey hemp and ORS hair mayo.

I have the mielle DC and will use until it’s gone. I also have the soultanicals glide & go. For now I’ll use Alikay Naturals black soap or one of my shampoo bars from henna sooq when I do use shampoo.

I use Kinky Curly Come Clean once a month to clarify. I mainy use moisture deep conditioners on wash days...once a month except 1 wash day when I will use Honey Handmade Healthy Hair Hydration Mask (protein from the blackseed & goat milk is usually just enough protein) or another deep conditioner with a light protein. You got me to try the try Chocolate Kinks & Curls...will try a used jar I got from someone next week.

I try to alternate my weeks between moisturizing products with low protein and the next week with restorative/strengthening products for wash day. Each month I will also use a clay and a cowash! I always use moisturizing products when I style my hair! I've been trying to do more twist/braid outs and styles with no gel or moisturizing gel (CR curl maker or UFD curly magic) in the wintertime. My hair doesn't need a lot of protein but I know the importance of it so it's always used but I've never had to use a super-strong protein treatment like Aphogee

Hey love 💕, I don’t keep my protective styles in for very long. If I keep it in for a month then I wash and add a deep conditioner every 2 weeks. I add leave in and oil when ever I feel like I need it. Then I resume my routine once the protective style it out.
@gabbylincoln11653 жыл бұрын
does this routine work best if you're doing styles without gels?? because I love co-washing but in the summer I do a lot of wash and gos and if I use a gel, I feel the need to shampoo each time. but shampooing every wash day can get to be a lot!!
@NJEberhart3 жыл бұрын
Hey Gabby 😊. So even in the summer I don’t do wash and goes a lot. Maybe like 2 weeks out of them month. So I normally don’t have an issue washing gel out of my hair. I do feel like the clay washes get rid of gel washes better than cowashing so maybe try that out instead. I hope that helps!

Hey love! I actually don’t have scalp issues. If you are suffering from dry scalp then I def would suggest oils and especially essential oils like peppermint and eucalyptus. Also as I am as a dry scalp line that I heard it really good. If it is another scalp issue it may be that your scalp reacts badly to certain ingredients. With that you will have to experiment a try to isolate the ingredient or products that might be causing the issue. Hope that helps!
