@@zachmayarbeats2258 Being a drag queen is kind of like being an actor. If someone's in their full acting getup, you refer to them as that character. Same goes for Trixie Mattel. Undernath the makeup, she's a he. But right now, even if she's being herself, she's in her outfit, and so we refer to her as Trixie.

vegasgrxnt she is now, which is great...but there’s a couple of things trixie/Brian has said that are kinda sad 😕 I can relate too. Basically his stepdad brutally beat him, verbally humiliated and abused him constantly. When he was 15 he threatened trixie with a gun...and he told someone at school. They told authorities and he had to move out. His mum didn’t do anything (aka throw the stepdad out for threatening her son with a gun). HE had to leave, over the husband 😕🤷🏼♀️ and she was ok with that. I know that people in abusive relationships are brainwashed. My mum is the same. It’s still heartbreaking for the child though, because they’re made very aware if it comes to choosing a man or their child, they pick the man. Every time.

“I love you too Brian” as her son is standing there in full Trixie drag.
@georgina-a2 жыл бұрын
I don't think there was any malice there - she was sincerely stating her love. She just knows him as Brian, her son, and most likely said it as a reflex, rather than a dig. Trixie isn't trans so there was no nasty deliberate misgendering going on. As mama said it they were both dressed up as drag queens. I bet she'd still be answering to her own name, so didn't think twice about using her son's name - to tell him she loved him (hardly the choice phrase/message of a bigot). People aren't perfect. There's so much real hatred in the world, let's focus on addressing that, instead of jumping on people who mean no malice & are showing love. The two of them have had a fractious relationship, so to be participating in a video to support her child - during which she has professed both her love and pride - is a beautiful thing. Let's not sully it by nitpicking pronouns that I highly doubt Trixie/Bryan took offence to in the first place.
