And it is not a vibrato but a standard practice of moving from one tune to another...its a classic method of classical indian song when u hold one tone for multiples of time....8 seconds, 4 seconds, 1 second to as low as one fourth of a second or even less for experienced classical singers. Its called sargam or alankar, where u tell the tunes like the beads of pearls in a necklace. Arijit is an accomplished classical singer although people hardly scratch the surface of that talent. And the audience adores him more because of his undeniable charm and absolute unassuming personality. Also, he is not caught up in the rat race like the others. Read up about him if u get a chance. Most of the singers have learnt Hindustani Classical music for 15 to 20 years. We sing the pure notes and micro notes which the western musicians can’t understand or sing. Arjit is a young singer and legend of legends. he fused lines/couplets from his multiple songs in one, a kind of short mashup of sorts for the Indian audience, so to understand lyrics will not be easy job and you will have to google search translation for each and every of that song. your mother is right when she says good to listen after hard days work.
